We would like to wish everyone a Happy Bavarian Easter.
Keep an eye out for Willy Wonka-inspired golden tickets; the prize is better than a trip to the chocolate factory. Instead, you will be awarded a year’s supply of golden crumbed schnitzels; this is a new culinary tradition we can really get behind.
Swap the chocolate easter eggs out for a savoury option and reap the benefits.
A schnitzel is a delicious and popular German creation; the thinly sliced meat is tenderised, breaded and fried. The Bavarian do some of the best schnitzels we have ever had the delight of tasting; from size to flavour, meat to toppings – we are always eager to try something new.
There will be three golden tickets up for grabs across all of The Bavarian’s locations; Auckland, Queenstown (New Zealand), and the Australian sites, NSW, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia.
To be in to win a coveted ticket, you will have to purchase a limited-edition schnitzel platter. The platter will be available for the entirety of Easter weekend, from Friday 15th April to Monday 18th April.
The limited-edition schnitzel platter is designed for sharing; the feast is fit for a king, with generous portions of Bavarian goodies. The platter showcases a range of huge, house-favourite, golden crumbed veal, pork and chicken schnitzel. Regardless of the prize, we would be indulging in this platter. It sees the long-awaited return of the iconic traditional veal schnitzel. We can only imagine the excitement this comeback will provide.
Additionally, the platter has a selection of house-baked pretzels fresh from the oven, traditional sauerkraut, red cabbage, potato salad, apple compote and creamy mash potato. It is truly exceptional and is lined up to be one of our favourite platter boards to date.
For those of you who still want to satisfy your Easter sweet tooth, you can opt to add on the cinnamon sugared doughnut pretzels for an extra $8.
These platters require a minimum of two diners; it is $59 per person. We highly recommend upgrading to include the 2-hour drinks package, which is $20 more. By doing so, you will live out an authentic German experience. Sample local and German beer; the latter includes the likes of Spaten lager, Franziskaner and Hofbrӓu. The drink package also lets you drink selected wine and soft drinks.
Get a group of your foodie friends together and make a much-needed trip to New Market; make a day of it and indulge in the German delicacies.
We see this Easter tradition as a win-win. Getting our hands on the limited-edition schnitzel platter and a chance to win a year’s supply of golden crumbed schnitzel – there are no losers here. When you buy the platter, your name goes in the hat to win one of the tickets. The year’s supply is one schnitzel a week, for 52 weeks, at any of The Bavarian restaurants.
We cannot think of a better way to spend our Easter afternoon than gorging ourselves on schnitzel, sharing a jug of beer and spending time with our nearest and dearest. Book a table before the long weekend to guarantee a table for you and your crew.
Better yet, you won’t have to wait long for the competition results; the winners will be announced on Tuesday 19th April. Book your table at the Newmarket or Queenstown Bavarians today to be in to win!
