You’re never too old for an Easter egg hunt. From classic eggs to Aussie bilbies, espresso martini cocktail bunnies to deluxe chocolate boxes, join us on our search for the best Easter chocolate in Sydney.
There’s nowhere better to start our Easter egg hunt than at Koko Black, Sydney’s home of deluxe, downright delicious handcrafted chocolates.
Every Easter, Koko Black pulls out all the stops and delivers a luxurious range of goodies to indulge in.
Select from elegantly boxed adult-sized Easter eggs, with sophisticated flavours such as quinoa and goji berry dark chocolate or sunny passionfruit in dark chocolate.
For the cocktail lover in your life, you cannot go past the espresso martini and little bunnies hamper. Drink your Melbourne Martini out of your Koko Black little bunny? Go right ahead!
Alternatively, take your pick from the rest of Koko Black’s gourmet Easter line featuring milk, dark and white chocolate bunnies, hot cross bites (hot cross buns but chocolate!) and different varieties of mini eggs.
Best of all? There’s a cute cafe downstairs where you can bask in the heavenly chocolate shop aroma as you devour your Easter treats.
Dish Cult’s top pick: Espresso martini and little bunnies hamper ($139)
When hunting for mouth-watering Easter delights in Sydney,
Kakawa should be very high on the list.
Before opening this Darlinghurst mecca of all things naughty but nice, owner Jinsun Kim learnt her craft under a Swiss-trained chocolatier, so you know you’re in capable hands here.
Stand outs from Kakawa’s range of extra-creative Easter offerings include extra-large praline filled eggs and the inventive hot cross loaf, spiced chocolate in the shape of hot cross buns.
Dish Cult’s top pick: Avocado egg, a saffron-infused white chocolate egg that looks exactly like a sliced avocado ($24)
Nestled in the inner western suburb of Rozelle,
Belle Fleur is the first port of call for many chocolate lovers from all over Sydney.
The Ter Heerdt family have been making fine Belgian-style chocolates for four generations, and their expertise is always on show. A visit to Belle Fleur is like stepping into an exquisite chocolate jewellery store; the expertly crafted chocolates on display look almost too elegant to eat.
Choose from classic chocolate bunnies, eggs (including a ginormous 2.5kg egg!) and beautifully presented chocolate boxes that you can custom fill with your choice of over 50 flavours.
Dish Cult’s top pick: Chocolate bilby ($24.90) for a distinctly Australian Easter treat.
Haigh’s beautiful Victorian-style shops in The Strand and QVB are home to a gigantic range of Easter delights at an enticingly affordable price point.
All the essential Easter classics are on offer here. Choccie eggs, bunnies and a range of chocolate gift boxes. We love the dark choc honeycomb or milk chocolate salted macadamia brittle egg box.
If you’re after an egg, pull out all the stops and go for the football-sized dark chocolate egg. A moreish chocolate monstrosity that you’ll still be devouring on Easter Monday morning.
For those wanting to change things up a bit, an eclectic array of bilbies, hens, and fish, including a massive golden chocolate Murray cod, are available in different shades of chocolate indulgence.
Dish Cult’s top pick: The 600g dark chocolate egg ($49.90)
This cute hole-in-the-wall chocolaterie in bougie Paddington knows a thing or two about treating Sydneysiders to the finer things in life.
Owner Suzanne Francis comes from a long line of chocolatiers and has been plying her delectable trade at Just William since 1984.
Aesthetic cocoa fiends, listen up! An array of elegantly presented Easter gift boxes and tins are available, each filled with a mixture of dark, milk and white chocolates. A fancy Easter gift idea for that extra special someone.
Alternatively, load up a big goodie bag of Just William’s colourful range of pralines, truffles and ganache, all sold by weight.
Dish Cult’s top pick: Deluxe Easter chocolate gift box, filled with a selection of truffles, pralines, ganache and creams ($125)
