The Knife and Cleaver
cuisinesGastropub, Child Friendly

Don’t let the name fool you, The Knife and Cleaver is child-friendly! Located in Houghton Conquest, this is a picturesque, British pub set in the countryside opposite a historic church. The menu takes a spin on British classics, but is seasonal and draws influence from a variety of cuisines. The fun kids menu not only allows them to play games and enjoy some time colouring in, it also allows them to order their own starters and mains, as well as kids pizza and kids Sunday roast (only on Sundays, obviously)! Parents and older family members, you’ll love The Knife and Cleaver’s handcrafted cocktails, signature freshly ground coffees, and draft beers, ciders and ales.

The Orange Tree is a stylish, contemporary dining pub, nestled in one of North Norfolk’s most beautiful coastal villages. It is family-owned too, making it a home-from-home. Here you’ll find award-winning food, from top quality local produce in a laid back, ‘unstuffy’ environment. The OT (as it’s affectionally known as) offers a haven of tranquillity where all couples, families and friends are welcomed with open arms. There are also 17 ensuite bedrooms, including seven rooms in the luxurious Manor Lodge, available too if you wanted to book an overnight stay during the half term.

Oscar’s is worthy of one of its namesake awards! This cinema-themed restaurant is a fun place to bring all the family. It offers a great selection of dishes made on-site each day, freshly built by a team of chefs in the kitchen. You can watch as these experts bring your food together before it’s served to you by friendly staff. Found in Saltcoats, North Ayrshire, the menu is divided between burgers and dawgs, Mexican, steaks, pasta, classics and the blockbusters, which are the house favourites and include dishes such as Chicken Sizzle, Sticky Sesame Asian Chicken and Trio of Seafood.

Smokd is a new, independent smokehouse based in Newport, South Wales. Expect the meats smokd low and slow, local beer and awesome music. As well as being a must-visit for adults, it’s also good for the little ones as there’s a dedicated menu for “small humans”. This features burgers, mac n cheese, and chicken strips, alongside a number of tasty sides like baked beans, fries and sweetcorn. Juices, fizzy drinks and fruit shoot choices are available for their drinks, while ice cream waits for them at the end. All of this for £7.90 is great value for money.

The Bentley Bar
cuisinesChild Friendly, European, Irish
Established in 2008, The Bentley Bar / Steakhouse is located in the heart of the city nestled between Derry’s main shopping hubs. It’s a family-friendly joint that also shows live sports and live entertainment. We particularly love the stacks here, including the Louisiana Chicken Stack, which comes with mash, sliced chorizo, tobacco onions, cheese and chorizo cream sauce.
