Some of the UK's best pre-show menus

Who doesn’t love a trip to the theatre? We certainly do and so do many restaurants around the UK who offer dedicated pre-theatre menus. So whether you’re after a meal that’s as memorable as your show, or somewhere thriving that’s close to where your gig or live concert is, we’ve rounded up some of the UK’s top restaurants for a pre-show dining and drinking experience.  

Farmyard is a Norwich based ‘bistronomy’-style restaurant, where a relaxed bistro experience meets the top quality produce and vibrant flavours normally found in gastronomic fine dining joints. Everything is prepared from scratch in the open kitchen. Meat, fish and vegetables are cooked over charcoal on the Bertha oven for maximum  flavour. Pre-theatre dining is available between 5pm and 6.30pm.

The Kitchen & Bar in Bolton’s Octagon Theatre offers a superb pre-theatre dining menu from 5-7pm, which has a wide range of dishes to choose from, including classics like pie of the day, cod and chips, burgers and salads. The team here aims to cater to all dietary requirements by offering vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, too.

The Globe Inn, independently owned since 2018, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner from 9am – 9pm. This place proud of its highly acclaimed bar lunches and pre-theatre dining, all from a varied and reasonably priced menu. The Globe Inn is always a good place for a pre-show supper and especially handy for HMT and the Music Hall. Good value, lovely staff and a friendly atmosphere – what more could you ask for?

The menu at Laguna offers a mix of the finest and freshest ingredients from Welsh suppliers, alongside a few carefully selected imports to create a fusion of flavours to suit every palate, lovingly prepared by award-winning chefs. Located in the Park Plaza Hotel, it’s ideal for an overnight stay if your show’s finishing late. The pre-theatre menu’s served from 5pm to 7pm, and you can get:
