Kushi-ya in Nottingham is a small independent Japanese grill specialising in kushiyaki – and we are big fans. Kushiyaki consists of skewered meat and fish cooked over charcoal. The end product is absolute taste heaven. Our favourite skewers are the beef and black garlic mustard, and the baby corn with kewpie, parmesan and chilli. Kushi-ya also serves a variety of small plates, desserts and sake. Save some room for the peanut castella cake with milk ice cream and koji caramel.
