Dish Cult is supporting Stonewall for Pride month

As part of our Pride month celebrations, Dish Cult is proud to be supporting Stonewall – the largest LGBTQ+ charitable organisation in Europe. Stonewall works in each nation of the UK and stands for lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer, questioning and ace people everywhere.

As recently as 2018, one in five LGBTQ+ people experienced a hate crime because of their identity, and nearly half of LGBTQ+ pupils still experience homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying in schools. More than a third of UK employees don’t believe it’s appropriate for their LGBTQ+ colleagues to be out in the workplace and same-sex relationships are still criminalised against in 70 countries.

Stonewall’s campaign work drives positive change in public attitudes and public policy, helping transform the day-to-day experience of all LGBTQ+ people. The work continues until the world we imagine is the world we live in.

Here are some examples of how your support could have an impact on the lives of LGBTQ+ people:

£250 could help Stonewall continue to develop resources and home-learning packs to support teachers in delivering LGBTQ+ inclusive education during the pandemic.

£1,000 could cover the cost of running Stonewall’s Information Service for a week, providing help and advice to LGBTQ+ people experiencing acute isolation.

£2,500 could support Stonewall’s work towards introducing a legal ban on the harmful practice of conversion therapy and free the lives of LGBTQ+ people who are affected by it.
