With a passion for creating unique chocolate experiences, it comes as no surprise that House of Chocolate has chocolate brownies on their menu. You can either stick to the basics with their classic brownie dish or kick it up a notch with their brownie s’mores sandwich. Beautifully topped with torched Italian meringue, you’ll most definitely want to snap some pics of this mouth-watering stack before digging in.

Want a brownie without the guilt? Little Bird Kitchen has got you covered. Titled the ‘raw cacao raspberry brownie’ it’s hard to believe this sweet treat is refined sugar, dairy, and gluten-free. The chocolate base comes topped with a thick, smooth layer of vanilla coconut and light layer of chocolate biscuit-crumb, and berries. A bit different from a classic chocolate brownie, but man it’s a goodie.

Ripe Deli’s signature salted caramel brownie simply screams decadence. The brownie itself is gooey and dense, which contrasts perfectly with the thick, smooth salted caramel layer in between. In addition to this cabinet staple, Ripe Deli usually likes to cater to every brownie-lover with different flavours available. Whether it’s filled with cream cheese or decked out with a black forest ripple, you can never go wrong with one of their home-made style treats.

Allison’s passionate team at Gourmet Gannet sure know how to whip up some divine salted caramel chocolate brownies. Don’t worry, if your choccy cravings hit mid-week you can also find these killer brownies at Gourmet Gannet’s Kumeu location from Thursday to Sunday.

Milse takes brownies to the next level at their sophisticated Tyler Street dessert bar. Amongst an extremely flavourful menu, you’ll find a 64% Manjari brownie. This unique dish comes topped with tamarillo compote, tonka mousse, lime gel, and cinnamon gelato. You can let the luxury continue by pairing the rich brownie with Milse’s lemon soda or Moscato.

A wander down K Road isn’t complete without a trip to Bestie Cafe. Situated at the back of St Kevin’s Arcade, there’s an abundance of sunshine pouring into this quirky, cosy hot-spot. From a classic choc flavour to extra chewy toffee hazelnut, you can count on Bestie to be one of the best.

Inspired by the French artist, Paul Cézanne, the walls at Cafe Cezanne are decked out with colourful murals replicating historical work. Such vibrancy provides a lovely atmosphere to enjoy a brownie (or two). Rather than going for an ultra gooey consistency, owners Rod and Jackie offer a slightly crunchier batch. Once you bite through the brownie’s biscuit-like exterior, your tastebuds will be greeted with the delicious fudginess that awaits inside.
