Dublin's top bars for a pub crawl

Dublin is one of the most sought-after spots in Europe to go on a pub crawl, with pubs, bars and clubs adorning almost every street in the city. However, while many guides will usher you into the tourist-filled streets of the generic Temple Bar area, our guide to the ultimate pub crawl in Dublin will send you to some of the most locally beloved bars and pubs, that will give you one of the most authentic and enjoyable wanders around the city you’ll find!

The Paddocks is an amazing live music venue by night and super busy restaurant/pub by day, making it both an ideal place to line your stomach for the pub crawl ahead and a cracking way to kickstart your night! This place offers a superb array of desserts and cocktails, as well as famous burgers which you’re sure to love.

The 51 Bar is a great sports bar located on Haddington Road. If there’s a big game on, this is the place to catch it, thanks to the 11 HDTV screens spread across the pub! It’s no surprise that this place has previously won best Sporting Pub in the National Hospitality Awards. The 51 Bar features one of the largest collections of whiskeys in Dublin too and also has a great range of rums, vodkas, gins, brandies and liqueurs. You’ll also find a wide range of draught beers, alongside a range of craft beers and wines.

A quick journey over to the north side of Dublin and you’ll find yourself at what looks to be just another run of the mill pub. However, you’ve probably just landed yourself at the most iconic pub in Dublin’s history, with a huge legacy behind it. The Gravediggers is a family-owned bar, striving to bring out the best of a Dublin pub. This place is built into the wall of the famed Glasnevin cemetery, with the name spawning from the fact that the gravediggers would come in for pints after a long day at work. According to multiple sources, including Dublin pint men and the well respected ‘Guinness Guru’ on Instagram, The Gravediggers holds the honour of having the best pint of Guinness in all of Ireland. While the pub might be a cosy spot that doesn’t feature any live music or dance floor, a pint of the black stuff from The Gravediggers is truly an unmissable stop on your tour.

Capitol Lounge
cuisinesBar, Cocktails

After a couple pints of the greatest Guinness around, it’s now time to start readying yourself for the dance floor, and what better place to warm yourself up than in the Capitol Lounge Bar. This is a swanky cocktail bar that’ll be blaring cheesy tunes and serving cocktail trees, with a warm and vibrant atmosphere. If you’re looking for a serious VIP experience, book into the exclusive upstairs lounge for an 8pm start. The house cocktails are all made on-sight using premium brand vodka, gin and rum, so you’ll be feeling like a celebrity no matter what your budget for the night is! If you want to continue on your Irish theme for the pub crawl, the Irish Mule with Jameson, ginger ale and lime is only €9! We’d highly recommend jumping into the signature cocktail menu and trying the Jameson IPA edition, featuring a lemon garnish for €11.

Dicey’s is the ultimate late bar to finish off your pub crawl in style! Located on the famed Harcourt Street where many of Dublin’s fantastic clubs are located, Dicey’s is a venue that caters to adults of all ages. First off, you can get a drinks list where all pints and spirt and mixers are only €2! It’s one of Dublin’s biggest bargains and it’ll have you only up on the big dance floor in absolutely no time! The spectacular location holds a three-story dance floor, with the exclusive Krystle and Bond club areas worth a look into if you get the chance. There’s a huge outdoor area for those warm Dublin summer nights, too. The club is open seven nights a week and even features a hotel if you want to wrap up your night in style!
