Spanish tapas is one of the most perfect cuisines for bringing people together. You get to sit around a table with your loved ones and share an array of colourful dishes bursting with flavour. It’s also ideal for indecisive foodies who just want to have a bit of everything! Liverpool is home to some fantastic Spanish restaurants and here are some of the best ones to visit.

Lunya, along with sister site Lunya Lita, is owned by local businessman, Peter Kinsella who fell in love with Barcelona in 1999. A live fire restaurant serving Iberian flavours inspired by the routes of the Camino de Santiago, Pilgrim is one of the most unique Spanish restaurants you’ll find in Liverpool. Since the 9th century, Catholics and non-Catholics alike have walked the Camino as a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain to visit the tomb of St. James. The Pilgrimage has multiple established starting points throughout France, Spain and Portugal with the most popular route starting in St. Jean Pied de Port in the French Pyrenees. Those who make this journey are known as a “Peregrino” or in English, Pilgrim. For octopus tentacle with guindila salsa or lamb chops with smoked aubergine and sumac, your own pilgrimage should begin here.
