Boozy brunches are back, baby!

Breakfast is all about delicious food, great company and even better mimosas. With Auckland heading into the traffic light system very soon, all we’re thinking about are those sweet, sweet breakfast mimosas. Here’s where to book in for your fix!

The Lula Inn
cuisinesModern New Zealand, South Pacific

The Lula Inn holds their infamous bottomless brunch every weekend so it comes as no surprise that they serve delicious mimosas. They have perfected the ideal ratio of bubbles with a splash of juice on top to sweeten the bite. If you are participating in their bottomless brunch then enjoy the perks of having your glass continuously replenished for two hours as you sit on the sun-soaked deck looking out across the water. You will need to order a bite to eat while you visit and there are delicious options to choose from. Of course, the classic eggs benedict is available – nothing beats a perfectly poached egg, lathered in hollandaise sauce. Dress up in your fineries and wait your turn for a gram-worthy picture with the wall of greenery as your backdrop – a most have memento from bottomless brunch.

Odettes uses modern techniques to create a spin on classic dishes that makes each mouthful more flavourful than the bite before. The menu boasts Mediterranean cuisine with hints of Levantine and African spices. Odettes showcases these flavours in their herbed scramble with halloumi, broccolini and date chutney and in the harissa chicken meatballs with a delicious savoury crepe – two cult favourites. Choose between sitting inside the spacious Bali-inspired interior with a sophisticated combination of exposed bricks, wooden tables and black seating. Or take your meal outside and sit in the covered courtyard beneath the fairy lights, surrounded by vibrant fauna. Pair your food with a delicious mimosa, the traditional prosecco and orange juice comes with a twist, a hint of dandelion.

One of the options being the brioche French toast, served with mascarpone mouse and freeze-dried berries.

Cornwall Park Bistro
cuisinesModern New Zealand

Take a step back from the constant hustle and bustle of Auckland’s streets and retreat to a beautiful green oasis. Take a stroll up One Tree Hill and enjoy the view of the City before you stop off for a bite to eat at Cornwall Park Bistro. Take a seat on the deck and watch the wildlife graze in the paddocks bellow. Every meal is created with locally sourced produce so the menu changes seasonally. Currently the Salmon Bruschetta, with golden raisins and roasted peppers is a top contender for our favourite breakfast meal. Embrace the peaceful atmosphere as you sip on a mimosa with perfectly pulpy orange juice.

Kind Café
cuisinesPlant-based, Modern New Zealand

If you’ve ever had the wonderful opportunity of dining at Crave Café in Morningside then you’ll know the food is divine, now try their little sister’s dishes at Kind Café. Treat your body to a healthy breakfast with their plant-based menu. Start the morning with their breakfast burrito; the spicy scrambled tofu and black beans paired with Kind’s famous chipotle hot sauce is ideal for fighting off the winter chill. Kind combines our two favourite things, watermelon and prosecco with their take on the classic mimosa. As you can imagine the refreshing and boozy cocktail goes down too easily.
