This American diner is inspired by the sunny shores of California and with bright décor and fresh food, it certainly feels like an escape. It serves casual food in a relaxed atmosphere and in the evening, it offers loads of diner classics. One option is the Pancake Stack, which is served with maple syrup and either bacon or blueberries. There’s also pancakes for brunch, with the added choices of fresh fruit and crème fresh or banana, whipped cream and chocolate sauce. You will not leave disappointed…or hungry.
This beautiful restaurant is tucked away in Clifton Village and focuses on creating a perfect space for any time of day. If you’re looking for a relaxing brunch or a more sophisticated dinner, Coppa Club has it covered. Huge windows flood the restaurant with light and plants, and bookcases make you feel right at home. The lounge, with comfy sofas and coffee tables, are the perfect setting for pancake treats. Buckwheat and Rye Pancakes served with berries, granola, seeds and coconut yoghurt is the perfect twist on a classic option, keeping it fresh, light and delicious.
This little cabin on Prince Street has an almost perfect five star review on Tripadvisor for its delicious coffee and amazing crepes. Located right on the harbourside, it’s the perfect place to sit and enjoy a crepe with a picturesque view over the water. They’ve got 17 different sweet and savoury fillings to choose from, including options like apple and cinnamon, cheese and spinach, and one to debate over – cheese, pineapple and ham. In a majestic former banking hall on Corn Street, this neo-Palladian style building has beautiful marble floors and a domed roof, which certainly makes you feel like you’re dining in style. The buttermilk pancakes come in a stack of three or six. You can choose either lashings of maple syrup, bacon and blueberries, or Greek yoghurt with fresh berries and banana. There’s also a bottomless brunch with any breakfast dish, so if you fancied turning your pancake outing into more of a party, then it’s a great option with bottomless prosecco, bloody Mary’s or classic mimosas for 90 minutes.

Established in 1986 by Wong’s family, Cathay Rendezvous is the longest established Chinese restaurant in Bristol, making it an institution. Within the elegant façade, the restaurant offers spacious and flexible air-conditioned rooms on two levels. If you love duck then you can choose from either Aromatic Crispy Duck or Mock Crispy Duck, each of which is served with pancakes, spring onions, cucumber and house hoisin sauce.
