Bristol's best Malaysian spots

Searching for the incredible flavours of Malaysia but find yourself in ye olde Bristol town? Look no further, for here we have rounded up some of our Dish Cult favourites especially for you.

Dapur Kayu Pan Asian Cuisine
cuisinesMalaysian

As authentic as it comes, Dapur Kayu Pan Asian Cuisine serves delicious Malaysian dishes in Portishead. With great reviews, Dapur Kayu Pan Asian Cuisine is known for great food and a lovely team and atmosphere. With no corkage charge for BYO, this is a lovely relaxed date venue, or venue for dinner with friends. Open Thursday to Saturday only, we recommend booking to avoid disappointment!

The Coconut Tree
cuisinesAsian Fusion

We love this award winning venue. With great interior decor, and a brilliant menu flavourfully covering everything from vegan to meat to fish options, there really is something for everyone. An ideal space for a fun group booking for good vibes and even better flavours. We also love the containers the brilliant cocktails are served in, from elephants to coconuts, this is also a super instagrammable venue!

A great crowd pleaser that offers over 150 different authentic dishes from across the globe with COSMO’s “World Kitchen”, ideal for large groups and families who all prefer different cuisines. You will also be able to enjoy an unlimited plate including some cracking Malaysian dishes, as well as fresh seafood, Japanese, Sunday roasts, steak, chocolate fountain, all at a set price. We love the open kitchen element here also, so you really can enjoy the entire food process whilst savoring a brilliant classic cocktail.

Siam Smile
cuisinesMalaysian, Thai

Think small, relaxed, intimate, family run. Perfect for a chilled out midweek dinner out with an extensive and satisfying Malaysian and classic Thai menu. Reasonably priced too, this is a venue that is ideal for either an authentic dine in or takeaway Malaysian meal in Bristol. We also really enjoy Siam Smile’s sharing menu, especially Yellow River, designed for two to share.

We know we are pushing it a bit on the Malaysian front here, but The Metropolitan does serve some delicious Bao, and whilst we are aware that Bao may not originally be from Malaysia, it is extremely popular in Malaysia, hence we have included The Metropolitan here. Offering some interesting Bao flavours from Ox Cheek and Coriander to Pork Shoulder and Pear Hoisin. Plates are very Instagrammable and designed to be shared in this contemporary venue.
