Dublin's must try cookies
Few things pair better in life than a coffee and a cookie. Dublin hosts a variety of cookie shops that’ll satisfy any sweet-tooth craving. This Dish Cult guide aims to bring you some of the most scrumptious cookies that Ireland’s capital has to offer.
Hot Chip Dublin is a brand pushing themselves all across the city with Ireland’s famous signature dough at the root of all the pandemonium surrounding it. The project began when owner ‘cookie monster Dave’ tried cookie shop recipes all across the southern hemisphere, where cookie stands are all the rage. He returned to Dublin in 2020, and Hot Chip Dublin was born in the midst of a pandemic. Dave’s dedication to the craft is shown in his delicate menu. The traditional milk chocolate and white chocolate chip cookies are exclusively blended with Belgian chocolate, giving a rich feel to the chips. Hot Chip also feature smores, filled with puffy marshmallow. What’s more, Hot Chip also allow you to purchase their pre-made dough, allowing you to add a personal touch to some already delicious cookies. Hot Chip cookies are served in popular, independent cafe chain ‘Avoca’, among many other select independent cafes. A stellar location to pick up their cookies is in ‘The Punnet Stores’ in the seaside village of Glasthule. Scrumptious.
If you’re looking for chocolate chip cookies with extreme takes and stylings, look no further than The Cookie Lounge. These guys are experts in the cookie game. Their dough is baked to maximum thickness, giving it a crispy and crumbling outer shell. The soft core is loaded up with an array of chocolates and biscuits that The Cookie Lounge is famous for. Some of their best cookies feature Lotus Biscoff, Kinder Bueno, Rolo, and Oreo fillings. Did we mention that you can also get birthday cake toppings on your cookies too? Further, Cookie Lounge offer up vegan chocolate chip cookies as well! Their delivery prices start at four cookies for €16. However, The Cooke Lounge is stocked at Peacocks Bar in Swords, Container Coffee on Thomas St in Dublin City, and across all Gourmet Food Parlour locations in Dublin. You’re never too far from an experience with The Cookie Lounge!
Self-described as a ‘cooked Scottish chipper’, Six by Nico takes everything we know and love about a local chipper and puts a gourmet spin on it. While you may be dreaming about crunchy chips and flaky cod, we’re here to tell you about their unbelievable desserts. Among a six-course dinner for €45, featuring some of the most high-end cuisine you’ll ever have, Six by Nico puts a spin on a classic: a deep fried mars bar, alongside an ‘Irn Bru’ sorbet, over a chocolate soil cookie. It’s the ultimate taste of Scotland packaged into one sumptuous dessert. While Six by Nico may not have the range or depth that other Dublin cookie spots have, nothing can hold a candle to their unique approach in creating such a premium, special Scottish cookie!
Farmer Browns now has four locations, with Kilternan being the newest venue of the group. With an American-inspired menu, it’s all about the award-winning burgers here, as well as arguably the best desserts in the city! We especially love the Gooey Chocolate Brownie and the Cheesecake of the Day is always amazing, but the favourite is the Hot Fudge Sundae that always comes with a cookie-style wafer for a bonus treat! You’ll savour every bite.
If you love Oreo cookies then you’re going to love this. The Brass Fox serves a dessert called an Oreo-Luscious, which is Oreo ice cream with real Irish dairy ice cream topped with crushed Oreo… we’re not drooling, you are! This gastropub is a neighbourhood bar and eatery located in the heart of Tallaght, just off Belgard Road East, adjacent to The Square Shopping Centre. With welcoming staff and a mouthwatering menu, it is not one to miss.
