TGI Fridays is a vibrant venue where you can catch up with your friends over a plate of flavour-filled treats. The menu consists of all the favourites: burgers, fried chicken, signature grills ribs drenched in a sauce of your choice, plus the most popular American dessert – sundae. Apart from the delicious food, a big part of the restaurant’s appeal is its decor; you can expect red retro sofas and flashy lights that make it look straight out of an American movie. This world-famous chain is known for the motto ‘In here it’s always Friday’ – go there to get your party started or to relax after a long day.

Featured in the Daily Telegraph’s review of top burger restaurants, Bristol’s The Burger Joint is not to be missed by fans of the American cuisine. The name of the venue is pretty self-explanatory; born from the love for burgers, the joint boasts high-quality food at affordable prices, where everyone can find something for themselves. With the ‘build a burger’ offer, your cravings are bound to be satisfied; you can choose a type of bun, your own toppings and meat (vegan options are available) for a combination out of your dreams. The interior is a pleasant combination of a retro vibe and simplicity, which makes it perfect for a casual meet-up.

American food aside, Steak of the Art is one of the best restaurants in the area as every dish is prepared with great attention to detail. For starters, you can order a portion of buffalo chicken wings coated in the hot sauce to give you a taste of how dedicated the restaurant is to serving you the best of American cuisine. For mains, you can choose one of the beef cattle steaks, all fresh and rich in flavour. Our personal favourite is the ribeye steak, slightly fat and very tender. If you don’t feel like having a steak, don’t worry, there’s more on the offer: pork schnitzel, cheesy burger or chargrilled mackerel. Just like the food, the décor is an art in itself; the artwork and retro details make for a unique atmosphere that translates into a top dining experience.

Quay Street Diner

If you’re hoping to experience what eating in an American restaurant would be like, make sure you visit the Quay Street Diner, where you can enjoy a selection of authentic dishes in a relaxed atmosphere and an imaginative interior. The menu consists of a choice of hotdogs, tacos, burgers, chicken wings and fries. If you don’t know where to start, go for the signature dishes: a pancake stack with maple syrup and bacon or iron steak with onions, peppers and cheese in a brioche sub. The venue is situated in central Bristol, so don’t forget to stop by when you take a stroll around the city next. And if you ever need a venue for a special occasion, you can hire the wave room that accommodates up to 30 people and comes with a large projector.

To put it simply, The Hobgoblin is the place to go if you want to eat, drink and relax. This family-run venue prioritises providing you with an excellent dining experience by offering a welcoming service and delicious food made from high-quality ingredients. The handmade burgers come in all shapes and flavours; from a beef burger with brie and bacon to a chicken burger with bacon and cheese, or a Thai bun filled with vegetables and drenched in salsa. Make sure you leave room for the menu’s highlight – the dirty fries seasoned with pork, BBQ sauce, cheese, mayo and multiple spices. The interior is best described as down-to-earth, with a pub design and slightly retro influences, where you’ll fit right at home.
