Where to dine with big groups in Liverpool

Madre can cater for large groups of 8 or more however they recommend that you book at least one week in advance. They have a wide selection of tasty treats including vegan, veggie and of course, meat options so there is something for everyone here! Nestled in the cultural hub of the Royal Albert Dock, Madre is the perfect place to sip on some cocktails and enjoy authentic Mexican street food.

You can get everything from fish tacos with jalapeno aioli to chorizo quesadillas with salsa brava. They also serve a range of delicious margaritas like the spicy but sweet margarita with jalapeno and pineapple and the classic frozen margarita – it is a great way to get your party started!

City Wine Bar is quiet and romantic in the front and party in the back and upstairs! This is like the Tardis of Liverpool. The food is excellent, serving a great selection of mains from a katsu curry to steak and chips.

Obviously, the wine selection is fantastic and they also serve drafts, bottles, softs and cocktails so there is something to suit everyone in your large group! City Wine Bar offers really friendly service, which makes it a great hangout spot for you and your group.

Ma Boyle’s Alehouse and Eatery dates back to 1860 and opened originally by Kay Boyle. It was first a coffee shop and is now a perfectly situated alehouse, a stone’s throw away from Albert Dock, Liverpool One Bus Station and the ferry terminal so if your guests are travelling from far and wide, it’s a great location for a meet up!

The gastropub may look small from the outside but once you step into the bar, you’ll notice a private function room downstairs. This large capacity space is the perfect private function area for groups! They also have a bar on the ground floor which is manned when large parties or live music is taking place.

Located on the infamous, bustling Bold Street, Leaf is always thriving! Opening its doors in 2007, this place always has a great atmosphere, whether you’re popping in for one of their famous teas and a cake or whether you’re celebrating with a few drinks and good food, it’s one of the busiest places on Bold Street.

If your large party wants a bit of space away from the public, there is a private function area upstairs which is available to hire and has floor-to-ceiling windows giving you a bird’s eye view over Bold Street and Concert Square. 

This place is huge! You and your group will have plenty of space. It brightens up the corner of Hanover Street, with its inviting lighting and open fire pit. This is a lovely location to sit and enjoy a glass or a bottle of wine with your group. It’s warm and inviting with plenty of seating to sit and watch the world go by. 

Book a table for food in the Cook Haus or, if you’d rather just drink, pop in and you’ll get a table in the Bier Tavern but for large groups, we always recommend booking because this place gets busy! Especially on the weekend.
