Move over Valentine’s Day and make way for GALentine’s Day!
Whether you’re a single pringle and ready to mingle, or you’d much rather spend the day with your friends rather than your partner, look no further for the best Galentine’s locations in Liverpool. Get ready to go glam and have fun in these not so traditional bars and restaurants.
Nestled away down a little side street, Buyers Club is easy to miss if you don’t know where to look. But that’s what makes it so special. A place that is always welcoming, their menu is based on simple dishes and great ingredients. They are not afraid to showcase the best of British charcuterie and cheesemaking with their fresh homemade pasta and some classic lamb ragu or to pair this with a perfect wine. They also sell delicious pizzas and plenty of sharing options to start. Not to mention their mouthwatering chocolate and pecan brownie with caramelised banana. If that isn’t self-love indulgence, we don’t know what is!
Everyone is catered for here. They serve continental schooners and British pints, they can make a classic cocktail or they have an extensive wine list with nothing bad, nothing overrated and nothing overpriced. If you stay late enough, Buyers Club also plays amazing tunes and is renowned for being a great night out once the sun sets!
This quirky pizza and party bar welcomes guests with a roof terrace and decor that would be expected of a place called Crazy Pedro’s. Think Mexican vibes with neon lights and sassy music. Go here for a night of dancing, drinking, and unique choices that will have you looking to try a pizza with sushi or chips.
Crazy Pedros is renowned for their pizzas. Apparently, the founders of this wacky warehouse tested over 20 different flours to perfect their pizza dough, which is made fresh every day. They serve your classic toppings or if you’re feeling adventurous, why not try their Nacho Libre pizza, topped with tortilla chips, cheese and chilli sauce? We, personally, highly recommend their Whacko Jacko pizza, topped with jerk chicken, pepperoni and olives. All of their pizzas are served by the slice or as a full 16” pizza.
Located by Liverpool Lime Street, the Boom: Battle Bar is perfect if you’re travelling to Liverpool for the weekend. Get set for a host of wild activities including Bavarian Axe Throwing, Crazier Golf, Augmented Reality Darts and Shuffleboard all rolled into one location. They also serve tantalising twists on cocktail classics. This is Liverpool’s best location for a fun-filled Galentine’s day! We would recommend lining your stomach before or after you visit as their food options are limited to loaded fries and chicken wings.
If you fancy taking part in the axe throwing, then make sure you’re sober before arriving, they also don’t allow alcohol whilst you throw – that wouldn’t end well. But, if you’re worried about beheading your mates, maybe you’d rather spend your Galentine’s day playing crazy golf… but you’ve never seen it this crazy. Catapults, loops, conveyors… they have it all! You can drink as much as you like playing this, so why not try a Britany Spritz? It’s like Britney Spears but in a glass.
Baltic Market is Liverpool’s first street food market. Showcasing the best Liverpool has to offer in one location, this is the perfect place to spend your Galentine’s Day. Ideal for your fussy friends and picky palates, zealous vegans and juicy meat lovers, the gluten-free and the never full. Home of halloumi fries, frozen gin slushies and bubble waffles. From gyros to wood-fired pizzas, the Baltic Market offers something for everyone. It’s urban but simplistic interior hosts a relaxed vibe and you’re 100 per cent guaranteed to see many four legged furry friends as this place is so dog friendly, they feature on Baltic’s Instagram almost daily.
Liverpool Bierkeller is located in the city centre with a dedicated ‘Biergarten’ that overlooks the Albert Docks, offering amazing views from an elevated height. But if you would rather imagine yourself on holiday in Bavaria, then Bierkeller is the place to be. This quirky restaurant and bar does beer the German way, served in ice cold steins to your table. Enjoy live entertainment and the authentic Bavarian decor for a party suitable for any occasion! Expect everyone in here to be singing at the top of their lungs and dancing on the tables… no, seriously – this bar is wild! As well as a wide selection of alcoholic beverages in their main bar, they also have a smaller, quieter bar that serves food and is better suited if you want to chat rather than sing.
Teddy’s is bringing cool dive bar vibes at their Ropewalks location. The venue is a must for those looking for a quirky night out, thanks to its neon signage and vibrant party atmosphere.
This fun bar offers a wide variety of packages and booths for hire. If there is a big group of you, this is definitely worth doing! But if not, all cocktails are £8, so why not treat yo’self to a few of their crazy concoctions such as the Teddy Picker; Eristoff, Chambord, Blueberry and pineapple, this one will knock your socks off. Renowned for live music, this place may not be for the faint-hearted. Expect indie and rock n’roll tunes if football isn’t playing on one of the big screens.
