Why not enjoy your next birthday night out in one of the most Instagrammable venues the city has to offer. House, located on Botanic Avenue – the centre of Belfast’s student quarter – is a popular bar, restaurant and hotel spanning three floors and a space that has become one of the top spots to celebrate in the city. If visiting for food, House is open for breakfast, brunch and dinner each day with an exciting, mixed European menu. Most popular for birthdays is the boozy brunch, which is set underneath the iconic life-sized cherry tree that appears to be growing from the main bar. For brunch, diners can enjoy a number of classic egg dishes, hot breakfasts, burgers, salads, wings and a number of other delicious mains. For only £22.50 extra, you can upgrade your brunch to the boozy option, which not only includes six glasses of prosecco but also “little potions” to add to your glass to spice it up. House is the ultimate spot for any birthday event, guaranteeing great food, an elegant location and a wide selection of drinks and prosecco to start your celebrations with a bang.

If you’re searching for a one of a kind, sophisticated birthday venue, look no further than Belfast’s secret speakeasy. Angel and Two Bibles, discreetly located on Lower Garfield Street, is a whimsical bar and event space unlike anywhere else in the city. From the outside it would be easy to miss the entrance to this secret spot, however once buzzed in you’re instantly met with bold colours, maximalist decor and a steep set of stairs leading to “heaven”, i.e the main bar area. Specialising in cocktails, Angel and Two Bibles has not one but two extensive cocktail menus with tipples to meet everyone’s tastes. “The Old Testament” is the ode to the classic cocktails we all know and love with a description of the origins of each specific cocktail. The intention of this menu is delivering classic serves, prepared with artful precision, ensuring this is the perfect way to enjoy your favourite drink. Angel and Two Bibles’ “The New Testament” menu is a mix of its own exciting creations, allowing the team to create something completely unique. “The New Testament” offers more fruity and over the top concoctions, sure to provide the perfect birthday tipple for your next party.

One of the city’s most popular restaurants, Freight has become famous for its great food, vibey playlists and classic Belfast “craic”. Although operating from two venues, both East and South, it’s the original containers on C.S Lewis Square that offer the classic atmosphere that makes this venue so special. Operating out of five reconditioned shipping containers, Freight has become a go-to for breakfast, brunch and supper with regularly changing menus and stand out specials, which has gained it a loyal customer base. For brunch guests can expect everything from hearty Belfast Baps to Hot Nashville Chicken and Waffle Stacks – the menu combines classic favourites with exciting specialities, all delivered with the signature Freight flare. The evening supper offering is just as exciting, if not more so, with the finesse of fine dining brought to this cool and hip East Belfast venue. Although the menu is constantly changing to reflect the best flavours of the season, guests can always expect a number of exquisite meat, vegetarian and vegan dishes to suit everyone’s tastes.
