Wellington Welcomes Igloo Dining For Those Winter Date Nights

Pairing the beauty of Wellington’s waterfront with plush seating sorts out your next date night. The popular bar is excited to once again, make outdoor dining accessible at any time of the year. Whether it’s a romantic date night with your loved one or a girls date night with the crew, St John’s has it all sorted.

With your own cosy private sanctuary, you’ll begin your evening with a toasty cocktail from Grey Goose. The options are absolutely irresistible, with some creative takes on classic choices in the mix, whether it’s a Pear Patch with raspberry infused vodka, pear puree and lemon juice or a Bounty (like the bar) with vodka, Baileys, coconut syrup and cream.

If you’re looking for more of a pick-me-up, the Igloo Espresso Martini is the one for you, with Liquor 43, Kahlua and coffee.

To get started for food, indulge in a started shared feast with a board scattered with cured meats, fig & pear relish, green olives, hummus, marinated veg and fresh brioche – this charcuterie sounds like serious business.

The main course doesn’t look to disappoint either, offering a shared platter of Blue Warehou fillets with tarragon bearnaise, free farmed crispy pork belly with mustard seed jus,
char-grilled NZ rump with truffled mushroom sauce, turmeric and coconut oil roasted gourmet potatoes, sesame soy braised fennel and bok choy.

As always, there’s room for dessert. Enjoy the finale consisting of chocolate torte with raspberries & coconut crème Chantilly and key lime tartlets with thyme honey.

Drinks are available throughout your visit, as you stay cocooned in your cosy igloo, decked out with comfy chairs, soft cushions, and twinkling fairy lights.

The igloos are available Monday – Thursday at 3pm and 6pm, and for some early weekend wonder, Friday bookings are at 3pm, 6pm, and 9pm while Saturday slots cater for groups at 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, and 9pm. For the perfect weekend wind-up, Sunday bookings are available at 12pm, 3pm and 6pm.
