Fabulous food offerings

Token stands out in Dublin City as one of the best American cuisine spots around. Having won ‘restaurant of the year’ in 2018, expect some mouthwatering American specialties, put together by the marvellous kitchen team. When you’re heading to a standard arcade, you’ll most likely be greeted with a chipper-style menu. However, Token takes the standard up a few notches.

Kicking off with the burgers, these things are must-tries. The Token big-mac is spectacular and epitomises the excellent American cuisine. Two Irish beef blend patties are topped off with Token’s signature big mac sauce, American cheese, pickles, onion, and crispy lettuce. Token also features a vegan big-mac, as well as a stellar bacon-cheese. The burgers range from €10.50-€12.50 – a steal considering the quality.

The chicken dippers are outstanding and great for sharing amongst friends. The Katsu Love Tenders feature katsu curry, crispy pickled onions, and some spiced cashews for €11. If you’re on for the hot stuff, the ‘Tainted Love Tenders’ are marinated in Fuego Negro Sauce, turbo spice flakes, and served with house pickles for €12. We’d probably recommend taking a milkshake with these, they’re not for the faint-hearted!

A special mention goes out to Token’s superb side dishes, they’re fantastic for sharing with friends. Our highlights are the burnt end chilli fries and the bacon jam fries, while the vegan spice bag is a special way to round off a night of gaming with friends. It’s also worth noting you can grab any main, side, drink, and 22 arcade tokens for €32!

Inspired cocktails

Moving on from the food offerings, Token hosts an extensive cocktail and drinks list that will keep any group happy! No warm beers or unbalanced drinks, you can expect excellence from the team of mixologists and bar staff here. They’re always happy to run through recommendations. 

We kick things off with the signature cocktail list, where cocktails range between €11-€13 and pack an immense amount of flavour. Tiki Thunder is an excellent place to start, especially on a warm summer evening. Havana Especial Rum is blended with blue curacao, coconut, orgeat, pineapple, and a dash of lime juice. It’s a tropical storm that will have you feeling as if you’ve just landed on a beach in Havana. If you’re looking for some classic cocktails with a bit of a twist, why not try The Old Dog? Orange infused Teeling’s Small Batch Whiskey is mixed with Kahlua, Mozart Dark chocolate, and espresso. The infusion creates a sort of Terry’s chocolate orange take on an espresso martini / Old Fashioned. It’s an excellent adventure for the whiskey lovers out there. Finally, if you’re in Dublin for a big night out, the 69er is probably one of the strongest cocktails about. So much so that there’s a maximum limit of two per customer! Plantation Overproof Rum (coming in at 69% ABV) is blended with falernum, strawberry jam, and lemon-orange bitters. It’s total rocket fuel, but Token knows how to make it right!

Token also hosts a brilliant list of beers, with ZingiBeer, Beavertown IPA, and Trouble Brewing Ambush IPA the pick of the bunch for craft beers. There’s regular host guest taps and beer tastings, which are always great fun when paired with a few arcade games. Finally, the list of mocktails and 0% beers are excellent, and blended with the same care and expertise as the traditional cocktails.

Choice of games 

We couldn’t round off this spotlight without mentioning the brilliant list of arcade games situated in Token. Mortal Combat, Street Fighter, and Crash Bandicoot are some of the retro classics we all know and love, and luckily for you, Token has them all! 

It also hosts a pinball parlour and arcade favourites such as air-hockey and table tennis. For a night out packed with great games, great vibes and great food, Token is the number one choice.
