Baba Ganoush Kitchen
cuisinesFalafel, Middle Eastern

Baba Ganoush kitchen is a Middle Eastern inspired café in St Paul’s serving some of Bristol’s best falafel. The vegan meze option on the menu is served with falafel, tahini, homemade chilli sauce, pickles, and toasted flatbread. The food is simple, fresh, and made with love. It also serves amazing freshly squeezed juices too.

For anyone that thinks salads are boring, then we recommend trying something from Bocabar. This rustic and cosy café features a rainbow of different salad options on its menu. For example the Beetroot, squash and buckwheat, Tuna panzanella, and Chicken and kale salads all sound amazing. They come in either a side or main size so you can quench your salad cravings no matter how hungry you are.

Serving breakfast, lunch, coffee, freshly baked pastries as well as your store cupboard essentials, this café does it all. All the food on the menu is homemade, nutritious, and served with a smile. The seasonal salads on offer are absolutely gorgeous. They are full of protein, fresh ingredients, and rich dressings and as salads go, they don’t get much better than this. With locations in Cotham, Gloucester Road and Fishponds, its definitely work making a trip to your closest café.

The Olive Works is one of St Nicholas Market’s many wonderful food stalls. It is a Mediterranean inspired salad bar with a range of delicious and healthy options on offer. The salads include ingredients like halloumi, butterbeans, chicken, lamb and of course olives! The portion sizes are generous, the ingredients are fresh, and the staff are super friendly, what else could you ask for?

For something a little different, why not try Root. It is a gorgeous little restaurant in Wapping Wharf and its menu is almost entirely vegetarian. Their chef heads to the local fruit and veg market twice a week to hand pick the produce for the restaurant, meaning the dishes on the menu are always adapted to the season. With options like Burrata served with peas, broad beans, seeds, and wilding radish, and Grilled courgette with creme fresh and rocket pesto, the menu is like having salad tapas.

The ethos of the restaurant is to deliver dishes that are delicious, sustainable, and affordable, and it really shows. From presentation to taste, Root is an enjoyable experience all round.
