The Easter holidays are coming up and whether you’re planning a meal with all the family, a romantic treat for two, or a bit of fun for you and your friends, it can be challenging to find somewhere that pleases everyone. Don’t worry, there’s so much choice here in Bristol and we’ve rounded up some of the best restaurants to guarantee everyone is kept happy.
This city centre restaurant and bar is perfect for an Easter weekend treat. Its menu is Mediterranean inspired and is full of small plates, pizzas, sharing boards and burgers. The colourful décor and beautiful rooftop terrace offer a perfectly vibrant atmosphere to have a little fun, especially if the sun is out! It’s a family-friendly restaurant and there’s often deals on food for children, so keep your eyes peeled over Easter for any family discounts.
If you haven’t already been then you have to try The Garden of Easton. This beautiful café is lined with more plants than you could imagine, making it a beautiful and calming setting to enjoy a coffee or brunch. It uses locally sourced ingredients and its ever changing menu keeps things fresh and current. Its coffee is sourced from Extract Coffee, which is just round the corner and is also where all the staff are trained, bringing you high quality coffee and service. It’s open 10am-10pm most days, so if you’re looking for something to fill your day time or a relaxing evening meal then give it a go. We guarantee you won’t be able to resist taking a photo of the stunning interior.

A Michelin Guide restaurant in Bristol’s ever popular Wapping Wharf, Tare is a small and intimate dining venue that’s ideal for dates or small groups of friends. Here there’s a seven course set menu, alongside a seven course set vegetarian menu. With locally sourced produce and an option to accompany your dinner with a set drinks pairing menu, this is a brilliant harbourside venue that’s perfect for something a bit special this Easter.

A popular 1920s-themed venue serving steak, seafood and cracking drinks right by St Nicholas Market – what more could you want? This is a hot stone dining experience, ideal for all meat lovers. With an interior of chandeliers and wood panelled rooms, again it’s a great spot for a date night over the Easter bank holiday. The Library – Mugshot’s secret cocktail bar – is a short walk away and a fantastic place to enjoy a classic cocktail on the long weekend.
Mud Dock is a lovely café with gorgeous views of the harbour. If the weather is on your side then the terrace offers beautiful views over the water, or if you’d prefer to be inside the décor is just as nice. It offers breakfast, lunch and dinner so whether you’re after a lazy brunch or a family dinner, it’s perfect for any occasion. The brunch menu is full of all your breakfast classics as well as options like pancakes or shakshuka. The dinner menu offers a variety of sharing boards as well as a selection of mains and specials. There’s also a children’s menu, which has loads of options. Delicious food and great service, all served with a beautiful view, what’s not to love?
The Red Church is a beautifully converted bank in St George. Its industrial style mezzanine and exposed brickwork really accentuate the beauty of the building. It has a lovely buzz about the restaurant making it a great place to enjoy a meal. During the week the team serves amazing pizzas alongside a selection of locally sourced drinks. On Saturdays they offer a selection of small plates, as well as main meals and sides. This is one of Bristol’s restaurants that books up quickly, so we recommend reserving a table ASAP, especially if you are looking to go at the weekend.
With a weekly changing menu, this intimate bistro with organic wines is a delightful independent eatery. Boasting a lunch “Menu da Jour” paired with a glass of natural wine, Wilsons is a lovely afternoon spot for the bank holiday. With its own garden only 20 miles away, used to produce the restaurant’s own veg and edible flowers, this really is a sustainably focused venue that’s unmissable any time of year.
Lido is a gorgeous venue that is incredibly hard to get into but so worth it! A hidden gem in Clifton, book well in advance as demand is incredibly high. With a stunning outdoor pool, spa poolside bar, and an award-winning restaurant overlooking the pool, it’s the go-to spot when the sun’s out. Lido has a Mediterranean menu serving anything from breakfast to Sunday lunch. The pool is open to members and non-members, so we recommend booking a pre-meal swim and making a day of it.

A cracking Japanese-inspired venue serving up sushi and Asian fusion small plates. With good vibes and a Tokyo-themed interior, Seven Lucky Gods is a great spot for both food and aesthetic. It’s also worth noting the epic selection of Japanese whisky and sake on offer in a classic Wapping Wharf location, which means you can start your long weekend off with a delicious meal and good drinks without having to think about work the next day!
