All over the country there are big screens being put up to allow people to gather together to watch the coronation. This will be a great experience with hundreds of Bristolians all watching it together creating a memorable moment of an historic event. The screen in Bristol is being put up at Bristol Cathedral. After the coronation you might find yourself getting a bit peckish so why not treat yourself to lunch at one of the many restaurants on Park Street? We’d recommend Meat Off, which offers a unique and interactive cooking experience. Choose your skewers from the huge range on offer from meats and fish to vegetables and chillis. Then you cook them to perfection at your table! The last step is to add one of the many sauces on offer and then enjoy. This restaurant is the perfect choice to have some fiery and delicious fun.

Clifton Observatory

On 7th and 8th May, the Clifton Observatory is offering two sittings of a king’s coronation afternoon tea. For just £22 per person and £10 for children you can carry on the regal theme at a steal of a price. On offer are sandwiches, canapés, petit fours and scones with lashings of jam and cream. To add to the royal decadence, you will also be offered King Charles’ favourite tea and cake, Darjeeling and fruitcake, alongside your traditional afternoon tea. The observatory itself is a beautiful setting where you can take in the spectacular views of Bristol on the rooftop terrace before entering the regal William West Room to enjoy your afternoon tea. 

If you want to be treated like royalty, then why not head over to Adelina Yard? This fine dining restaurant serves modern European food in a relaxed environment and is sure to leave your taste buds tingling. It has an outstanding tasting menu with dishes like raw venison with kohlrabi, crosnes, smoked egg yolk and burnt apple as well as crispy lamb with buckwheat pancake, salsa verde and pickled shallot on offer. There are also pescatarian and vegetarian tasting menus as well. Olivia and Jamie, who run the kitchen, have both worked in Michelin star restaurants before and it really shows in the food they are creating. The tasting menu also comes with an option of a wine flight if you want to get the full tasting experience. So if you really want to celebrate in style, then definitely try Adelina Yard to get one of the best fine dining experiences in Bristol.

If you’re looking for somewhere with royal ties in Bristol for the Coronation bank holiday weekend then why not visit St Mary’s church in Redcliffe? It was described by Elisabeth I as, “The fairest, goodliest, and most famous parish church in England” when she visited in 1574. When you enter the church you can see why, it certainly is spectacular. Afterwards, you may find yourself feeling peckish so why not check out Tare. It’s an 11 minute walk away in Wapping Wharf. This 20 cover restaurant is located in the famous shipping containers and is becoming one of the most exciting restaurants in Bristol. Its aim is to create tasty food that’s made with precision and skill using the best local produce it can find. The food is complimented by a carefully chosen drinks list to go alongside your meal. All of the dishes are unique, flavourful and some would say fit for royalty. Due to the size of the restaurant we definitely recommend booking to make sure you get a table.

If you’re looking for somewhere to eat with a regal feel then try Cosy Club on Corn Street. The interior of this restaurant is stunning. The building itself used to be an old bank and it has been restored beautifully. With huge pillars, ornate arching ceilings and chandeliers, you certainly feel like royalty while dining here. With breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, there is a huge range of food on offer. From small plates to mains including steaks, you’ll definitely find something to your taste. There is also a great cocktail menu with some classics, alongside slightly more unusual drinks to choose from. If you’re in the mood to really celebrate then why not try the bottomless brunch? It’s one of the best in Bristol.
