Behind the restaurant’s name, there’s a traditional Korean meal that literally means mixed rice. It’s a delicious combination of rice and vegetable toppings. At Bibimbap there’re 11 variations you can go for, all served with gochujang (Korean chilli paste) and miso sauce on the side. If you’re a fan of meat, your best bet will be beef bulgogi or if you can handle spicy food, chicken in garlic and chilli. If you’re a vegetarian you can choose from tofu, mushrooms or mixed seafood bibimbap. And the healthiest option, nutritious bibimbap contains ginseng and ginkgo that reduce inflammation and anxiety, and goji berry that protects against cancer. Go get your healthy fix today!

Kimchee is the place that makes a frequent appearance in our guides simply because it has it all to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. At Kimchee, you can enjoy the famous Korean chicken, be it chicken wings soaked in garlic and soy sauce or hot and spicy sauce. Another highlight is mandu, the Korean version of dumplings, filled with pork, chicken or vegetables with soy sauce on the side to make the flavour even more unique. The venue is perfect for a meeting with friends or your loved one but if you don’t have a date, go on your own and try their jajangmyeon. It’s traditional noodles with thick black bean paste that is usually eaten on Singles’ Day in Korea. There’s no better comfort food.

Gogi means ‘meat’ in Korean and yes, as you’ve guessed – it’s a Korean bar and a grill house. With a self-grill option, it’s both authentic and designed for sharing. Choose from the most popular options such as pork belly (samgyeopsal) or marinated slices of beef (bulgogi). For the lovers of more spicy flavours, you can challenge yourself with a spicy meat platter that includes bulgogi, hot chicken and pork. Don’t forget to order aloe juice to cool your mouth.

Jinjuu is known for street food which is an incredibly popular way to tackle your hunger in Korea. We recommend yachae, the steam dumplings stuffed with courgettes, garlic chives, cabbage and green peas. For the main dish, our favourite is Korean fried cauliflower, crispy and served with signature sauces. There are also mouth-watering desserts on offer including traditional shaved ice with sweet toppings and the signature Korean pancakes filled with salted caramel and peanuts. Visit them on a weekend and make the best of the bottomless brunch. Korean cocktails, anyone?
