The Hyndland Café
cuisinesBrunch, Breakfast

Built between 1901 and 1910 by J. A. MacTaggarts & Co, the Hyndland café is truly historic. At the heart of the café are owners Stewart and Kim Bisley – and a team of hard-working staff, all dedicated to delivering excellent customer service and exquisite food. Their toasted breakfast bagels are truly divine – think buttery scrambled eggs, fresh smoked salmon and cream cheese. The menu is extensive and is by no means limited to bagels: omelettes, breakfast rolls, eggs benedict and warmly baked pastries are just a few examples of what else is on offer. Head here for brunch and thank us later!

Holy Moly indeed! Established in 2021, Holy Moly Belter Bagels was created by Matt, a chef for over twelve years, who was desperate to revamp the bagel ‘experience’. Expect some seriously upmarket combinations and unusual ingredients: think Gochujang and Honey, Lemon and Dill Cream Cheese or even Black Garlic Whiskey Smoked Salt bagel (yes, really). More traditional options are also available to purchase – like their Sesame Seed bagel, or Cinnamon and Raisin bagel. Prices are low and the bagels are available for collection and delivery. Beware though, these beauties sell out quite quickly, so place your order promptly via the website to avoid disappointment!

Mark’s Deli offers a huge selection of kosher products, including freshly baked biscuits and cakes, as well as cheese, their own famous smoked salmon, a variety of herrings and, of course, homemade bagels. Choose to take a bag of their freshly baked bagels home with you, or grab a seat at the café, which serves their famous hot Salt Beef Bagel every day from 12pm to 3pm. The deli is the perfect destination for those following a plant-based diet: they operate a strictly dairy-free kitchen and cater for those who cannot tolerate gluten too.
