Taking inspiration from New York’s Lower East Side, where gritty high rise buildings mix with upscale apartments and chic boutiques, East River is located on the not so gritty, Allerton Road.

Not only do they serve classic American burgers and wings, but their brunch menu is traditionally British with their smashed avo on toast and full English fry-up, so East River offers the best of both. Ever fancied an Electric Kool Aid? You can’t get more American than that, right?  You’ll love the rice paper artwork that is guaranteed to get you a few extra likes on Instagram. Pastel pink furnishings, exposed brick and feature walls hailing to the legend that is Jay-Z – East River not only delivers on cocktails, unreal food, but aesthetics too. If you dare to head to East River on a weekday, then you’ll be treated with two for £12 on all of their ‘shaken’, ‘stirred’ or ‘big gulp’ cocktails.

The first Fridays opened in New York, 1965 with the timeless promise, ‘In here, it’s always Friday’. Now a large franchise, there are two restaurants in Liverpool, one in Speke and one located on the top of Liverpool One. TGI Fridays serves hearty, delicious, American food and HUGE cocktails. Expect everything from whopper burgers, wings, ribs, corn dogs, you name it, and if it’s stereotypically American, TGIs serves it. Even their portions are huge.
