New wine and food bar in Bristol
Bristol’s smallest restaurant has announced it is planning to open a wine and food bar in Wapping Wharf. Tare – a 20-cover restaurant that offers a high quality tasting menu – will be launching Picole in a neighbouring shipping container of the Cargo development.
Tare was part of the original lineup in Cargo 2 when the development first began back in 2017. The team behind Tare are currently recruiting staff for the new bar with “a working knowledge and passion for wine and food”, with more details to be announced soon.
A statement released on its social media pages this week read: “Opening soon! Picole will be a new wine and food bar located at Cargo 2 @wappingwharf created by the team behind @tarebristol. We are currently recruiting staff for the kitchen and front of house, including Head Chef and Bar / Restaurant Manager.
“There will be an emphasis on natural and low-intervention wines, local and sustainably produced ingredient led food and warm hospitality. Applicants for management positions must demonstrate a working knowledge and passion for wine and food. Apply via emailed CV to [email protected]
“More details and opening dates to follow soon. Please help spread the word, we can’t wait to welcome you to Picole!”
Earlier this year, plans were announced to redevelop the site at Wapping Wharf North, which sits behind M Shed, to build on the existing success and special character of the neighbourhood. The designs aim to create a “bold, innovative centrepiece’” for Wapping Wharf, with new homes, shops, restaurants, takeaways and workspaces to complete this newly created community on Bristol’s harbourside.
