We swear that no felines were harmed in the making of this Sunday roast. Instead Sheffield favourite, The Devonshire Cat, serves up a variety of roasts every Sunday, topped off with their homemade yorkies. We strongly believe that roasts should always be eaten in comfort and the Dev Cat’s cos surroundings make it the perfect spot to kick back of a Sunday. They’re also owned by the Abbeydale Brewery, which means they serve a huge variety of craft and cask beers, perfect for a hair of the dog.
Renowned for doing a right good Yorkshire pie, the guys at The Broadfield are no slouches when it comes to cooking up a mean roast either. Every Sunday they offer a selection of beef pork, and nut roasts, served with a huge Yorkshire pud and all the trimmings. If you’re feeling particularly starving you can even double up on your meat for an extra £2. (Even Joey Tribbiani would get the meat sweats from that challenge!) With veggie, vegan, and coeliac options, it’s a great place for a Sunday roast in Sheffield if you’re with a big group.
Big sofas? Check. Roaring fire? Check. An amazing roast? They’ve got it all. The York is the perfect place to grab a Sunday roast in Sheffield, with food served right up until 9.30pm. Yorkshire is famous for big portions of hearty food and this place is no different. Their roasts are served with potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, and lots of tasty vegetables, perfectly washed down with their selection of expertly-made cocktails. (We hear the espresso martini is perfect for perking yourself up after all that food.)
Another brewery pub (they’re just so good at doing cosy Sunday hang outs!), The Rising Sun is full of nooks and crannies that make it the perfect spot to while away an afternoon. Not only do they serve a full roast menu, they also have a full menu full of pub classics running. If your whole party doesn’t want a beef, lamb, or pork roast, they can choose fish and chips, a burger, or more upmarket mains from the menu. Being a brewery pub they have a dependable list of regular beers with exciting guest ales that change regularly.
