We’ve put together a list of the most romantic restaurants in Aberdeen to show that when it comes to amore, “the Deen” is where it’s at.

Definitely one of the coolest eateries in Aberdeen, Carmelite is a hotel and restaurant with decidedly quirky decor. Relax in their dimly lit dining room where the food is as impressive as the colourful seats. There’s something for everyone on the menu, from burgers to 48-hour low and slow pork belly with black pudding and mash. A luscious cocktail menu caters for all tastes, with fruity concoctions like the Pornstar Martini, to stronger tipples like the Kyoto, made with Japanese whisky. In our opinion, anyone who says Scotland isn’t romantic is just wrong. All that wild weather, rolling hills, and “wee drams” is enough to get anyone’s heart aflutter. Which is why Scottish-themed Howies is on our list of the most romantic restaurants in Aberdeen. Settle yourself in on their tartan seats near the roaring fire and peruse their menu of the country’s best produce. Start off with traditional delights like haggis neeps and tatties, or Cullen skink (a creamy fish broth….just trust us) and fill up on a choice of local fish or meat dishes. Round it off with the nation’s favourite drink and your date will think they’ve hit the jackpot.

Situated a little out of the city centre, The Chester Hotel is known for some of the best fine dining in Aberdeen. An imposing building, the dining room is decked out in red and gold, with fine wines lining the walls. Dine out on crisp white linen, a sure-fire way to make you feel like you’re having a special evening. The menu consists of old favourites like scallop and lamb, all topped off with an impressive meat menu, prepared on their Josper charcoal oven. It’s no wonder it was awarded two AA rosettes in 2015. After, we’d recommend retiring to the IX Bar where they serve an unrivalled selection of whiskys from around Scotland in plush surroundings.
