Sydney cheese fanatics: get your black markers and calendars out - Australia’s cult favourite cheese festival Mould is back this August.

The 2022 program is looking too gouda to be true and while we are at risk of making too many cheesy puns (geddit?) – let’s just cut to the chase…

Mould: A Cheese festival, the result of a partnership between food events specialists Revel and Dairy Australia, is coming to Eveleigh’s Carriageworks on August 12 and 13.

A ticket to Mould grants you tasting access to some of the finest artisan producers of cheese and wine from across the nation.

There’ll also be a ton of whisky, sake, beer and cider available for purchase at the bars, plus a selection of more extensive food menus to sink your teeth into…(that’s if you’re not too full up on the star of the show, of course.)

According to Mould, last year’s festival guests indulged in a whopping one-million samples across three cities and took home over 3.5 tonnes of premium Aussie cheese. That’s a lot of cheese! But this year’s event is promising to be bigger, better and smellier than ever before.

Sample from a deliciously fragrant line-up of over 27 cheese producers, including an exclusive selection of festival-only varieties called the Grate Cheese Commission. These cheeses have been dreamt up and created by local producers especially for Mould and have never been tried or tasted before – so expect something different!

Vote for your favourite cheese of the day and you’ll be in the running to win one of ten 12-month subscriptions to the Mould Collective – a curated box of unique, artisan Aussie cheeses delivered to your door every month to keep the good cheese times coming.

But there’s a lot more to do in the program than just cheese tasting.

Get talking to local chefs about all things flavour or drop in for a cheese masterclass to test your knowledge. The team at Mould will be running a range of “cheese chats” so you can join the conversation with fellow Sydneysider cheese nerds.

Then at the Mould Bar, you can lounge away the rest of the day with a featured gin or vodka from Hartshorn Sheep Whey Distillery or a signature cocktail.

A four-session ticket at the event is $45 and grants you access to all cheese tastings, plus a Dairy Australia esky and wine glass to take home with you at the end of the day.

Session times include Friday August 12 from 4:30pm to 8:30pm, or Saturday August 13 at either 11:00am to 3:00pm or 4:00pm to 8:00pm. You can book tickets on the website here.

When: Friday August 12 4:30pm – 8:30pm, Saturday August 13 11:00am – 3:00pm or 4:00pm – 8:00pm
