A rustic affair

On first entrance, Luciano’s is a warm, welcoming space, with an aroma coming from the kitchen that will take you straight back to the eateries of Italy. The rustic brickwork and cosy interiors beautifully blend old-world charm with contemporary elegance, creating a unique atmosphere that is both welcoming and enchanting.

Settle into your seat, and take note of the gentle hum of conversations and the clinking of glasses. Luciano’s effortlessly captures the essence of Glasgow’s friendly hospitality spirit, making it the perfect place to unwind indulge in a memorable experience.

Traditional Italian fare

One of the most popular cuisines in the world, Italian is on the menu and we are ready to eat. Traditional with a modern twist, Luciano’s does all the dishes you’re craving, with a few surprises along the way.

We always start with mixed olives for the table, focaccia with rosemary and sea salt, a heavy tomato bruschetta, fresh fried calamari, and breaded mac ‘n Italian Taleggio cheese, mortadella croquette with a pistachio dip. To die for!

Luciano’s main menu is lengthy, with at least ten different pastas and risottos to choose from, and a pizza topping for every kind of diner. Standouts amongst the pizzas and pastas include the Salsiccia al finocchietto e funghi pizza (tomato sugo, Tuscan sausage, mushroom, mozzarella, Parmesan cheese), the vegetarian Bianca Tartufo pizza (white pizza with mozzarella, taleggio cheese, truffle pasta, wild mushrooms), Napoli pizza (tomato sugo, mozzarella, anchovies, capers, garlic, black olives, evo oil, basil), the Rigatoni alla Gricia (rigatoni pasta with parmesan cream, crunchy pancetta and black pepper), and the Raviolo di Gamberi (prawn and chilli raviolo, brocolli cream, lemon zest and crunchy crumb).

If pizzas and pastas aren’t entirely your thing, Luciano’s has plenty of other Italian dishes to keep your hunger at bay. The antipasti sharing boards come laden with cured Italian meats, cheeses, mini pizza dough, and tomato bruschettas. Or the seafood section may be more your speed, with a pan-fried salmon dish and fresh squid on the menu. If in doubt, the rib-eye is always a golden choice, with cherry tomatoes, rocket, skinny fries and a rich creamy peppercorn sauce.

Classic and contemporary cocktails

To complement your meal, Luciano’s boasts an impressive drink menu that will please even the most discerning connoisseurs. From fine wines carefully selected and paired with your dining choices, to craft beers and artisanal cocktails, there’s no shortage of options. While a red or white is a classic choice for Italian fare, and rightfully so, a cocktail to start or end the evening is a no-brainer, especially at Luciano’s.

Journey to the Italian countryside with a Mediterranean classic such as Luciano’s negroni, old fashioned, or espresso martini. Otherwise, the Capri Colada with Dewer’s Caribbean Cask, Bacardi Coconut, pineapple, lime, bitters, ginger beer, or the Japanese 75 with Roku Gin, Prosecco, lemon, sugar, strawberries will add the perfect touch of something unique and different to make the night memorable.

For the non-drinkers at the table, you’ll slot straight in with Luciano’s variety of non-alcoholic options from the classic Irn Bru to a slightly fancier Fevertree selection with elderflower or Mediterranean flavours ready to go. Of course, it wouldn’t be an Italian feast without a couple of espressos floating around the table, so Luciano’s has it covered with their caffeinated menu section boasting all your favourite coffees for a nightcap.

Tiramisus and Tartellettas

If the dessert menu is something you usually skip, you’ll want to reconsider the offer at Luciano’s. Italian desserts are some of the best in the world, and Luciano’s is serving them all up!

Starting off with the undeniably classic tiramisu, they’ve replicated the traditional recipe perfectly, serving up a perfectly-imperfect slice of the coffee-heavy cake. Cannoli Siciliani is also on the menu; fried pastry dough with sweet ricotta cheese, pistachios, chocolate and orange, as well as their Panna Cotta for something a little bit lighter, it’s served with raspberry sorbet, white chocolate and pistachio crumb.

If you’re after a death-by-chocolate moment, look no further than the Tartelletta ai Cioccolatto, a deep rich slice of dark chocolate custard, with Frangelico liquer whipping cream and fresh hazelnut.

Gelatos are available in a selection of flavours, just ask your waiter for today’s varieties. Add a shot of espresso to their decadent vanilla gelato and you’ll have a delightful affogato on your hands. Or, if you’re looking for something with a bit of a kick to end the night, the Semifreddo ai frutti di bosco is for you, with Wild berry and rum parfait served with white chocolate and pistachio cream.

Rounding off the menu, if you still have room, is one final Liqueurs & Whiskies section incase you feel so inclined.

Luciano’s menus will certainly have your eyes bigger than your stomach, so come comfy and leave satisfied after an impromptu trip to the streets of Italy. The restaurant is serving up food best enjoyed in the company of plenty, so round up your biggest group of nearest and dearest and dine out family-style, or embrace the romance that Italy is famous for and make this the next foolproof date spot – just be ready to be rolled out!
