Nu Delhi Restaurant named ‘Best in Northern Ireland’

The ARTA are held every year in celebration of the best and most authentic Asian dining experiences across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. 

Bringing together the very best in the nation’s food and hospitality scene, the prestigious awards mark a huge moment in the culinary scene’s calendar.

This year, the vibrant and popular Indian eatery Nu Delhi Lounge on Belfast’s Great Victoria Street is the regional winner. At the ceremony earlier this month, the restaurant was awarded ‘Best in Northern Ireland’ for the second year running.

Held annually in London, the ARTA have been dubbed the ‘Oscars of the Curry Industry’ by BBC and Sky. So, gaining recognition at such an event is a huge deal for anyone working or operating in the sector.

A nationwide celebration of British-Asian Cuisine and the individuals involved in its creation, the judges first select regional winners, who then battle it out in a series of live cook-offs to be crowned the Champion of Champions.

Taking the crown for the north of Ireland for the second year running, there’s no denying that Nu Delhi is one of the finest examples of Indian dining the country has to offer. 

Speaking after the event, owner Naz Din said he and the team were delighted to be recognised once again as the best in Northern Ireland.

Speaking to Belfast Live, Naz Din said, “We are absolutely chuffed to be walking away from the 2023 ARTA Awards with the unbelievable Restaurant Of The Year Award for a second time.

“It is such an honour to even be nominated for such a prestigious award. To walk away with the award two years in a row is such a testament to our team’s continued dedication to service and quality.

“We accept this award on behalf of our entire team and our amazing customers that keep our restaurant thriving year after year.”
