If you are looking to experience fine dining without all the bells and whistles, then Manifest is the perfect spot. Nestled in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle is Manifest’s relaxed dining room, which serves up modern British cuisine, a range of tasty snacks and the best selection of wine.
Manifest opened its doors in early 2022 and has since become a popular spot for everyone, whether you want a quick snack with a cold glass of rose or you’re hungrier than a horse and want to indulge in a hearty three-course meal. The place has also recently been awarded two rosettes for culinary excellence from AA rated trips – so you know you’re in for a treat.
Manifest was established by the owners of the Little Shoe – the family-run brasserie and bakery which has branches in Bold Street and near St George’s Hall. Sadly, The Little Shoe closed its doors in 2021, and since then the family’s been working on Manifest, which is inspired by the Baltic Triangle’s history of the shipping trade with local goods at the forefront.
The Manifest menu is packed with ever-changing homely seasonal recipes using high quality local produce. Some standout dishes this season include snacks such as the poached lindisfarne oysters with gooseberry emulsion and pickled gooseberry. If you are heading out for a drink but want to enjoy a light meal first, Manifest offers some delicious small plates including the torched mackerel and the sweet onion tart. For something more filling, you should try the larger plates selection such as the aged pork chop smothered in cider cream and the light but filling pan roast cod.
The dessert menu also has some impressive local delights. The Anfield elderflower cake is a must-have with its fresh and fruity taste that is heightened by the lemon verbena and blackcurrant.
If you wish to skip the desserts and get straight to the wine tasting, then Manifest is the place for you. When it comes to wine, Manifest are the experts – they even scout out vineyards to find some of the best wine across Europe and they also change their menus with seasonal wines in mind. Not a wine lover? Fear not, as Manifest has cocktail connoisseurs on hand to serve up your favourite – whether that’s an espresso martini after dinner or a sazerac with absinthe to get your night underway.
To snag a table at Manifest, you need to book in advance as reservations get snapped up pretty quickly, especially on the weekend. Also, keep in mind if you’re treating a loved one to a meal at Manifest, you should consider giving the gift of scouse hospitality by buying them a voucher so they can visit again and again.
