Manchester's best pasta
Pasta is one of the simplest yet one of the most delicious foods you can eat. Simple pasta is great, however there are hundreds of different pasta dishes and there is nothing like seeing Italian-style freshly-made pasta being created in front of your eyes. If you want to eat classic pasta but do not know where to go, we have found some options for you! Due to being an extraordinarily diverse city, Manchester has plenty of options.
This family-run chain started when Italian Maurizio Salvi started his deli at the Corn Exchange. The deli is still there and is a great place to buy Italian treats and some of the best pasta in Manchester. Underneath the deli, in the basement is the Mozzarella Bar and Restaurant. Here, you can get the Neapolitan experience in this cosy and original family restaurant. In addition, this establishment is only the first of what is now many of Salvi’s businesses.
The Pasta Factory can be located near the Printworks and the National Football Museum in the centre of town. Their motto, ‘Fresco, Tradizionale, Italiano’, says it all. Their goal is to make sure very customer has a time to sit down friends and chat whilst enjoying their homemade dishes. Their homemade pasta, ranging from the gorgeous pipi regatta viola to ravioli di gorgonzola, can now be bought to either eat at home or to give as a gift.
This is one of the best places in Manchester to get your pasta quick and on the go! It is situated in Harpurhey, north of the city centre and provides some of the best pasta in Manchester quickly and freshly. Plus, they have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options to choose from.
Gino D’Acampo My Restaurant is once again inside the Corn Exchange! This establishment was set up by the famous TV chef, Gino D’Acampo and encompasses his style and light-hearted fun very well. They offer a mix of Italian styles, from Neapolitan to Sicilian style cooking, in addition they provide fantastic vegan options, like the rigatoni arrabbiata or gnocchi napolitana. If there it is warm and dry, which is not often in Manchester, you can sit outside and enjoy the linguine with seafood or Gino’s Mama’s chicken risotto in the beaming sunshine. If being able to try Gino’s food is not enough to convince you, then I’m not sure what is!
Vapiano’s is high quality another Italian restaurant in the Corn Exchange, but with a twist. Instead of offering traditional waitering service, Vapiano’s food is self-service, so you decide which counter or area to go to depending on what food you fancy. What’s more is that it is al contactless payment, so it is very quick to pay with little fuss. The chefs cook the food in front of you, making it a fun and comforting experience. We would recommend the pasta dishes, which are especially delicious. With over a dozen pasta dishes and plenty of other Italian, this spacious modern restaurant is a must try.
