The nominees have been announced for this year’s Asian Restaurant Awards and a host of top Manchester and Greater Manchester restaurants have been nominated, including several you can book with on Dish Cult.

The annual celebration of the Asian restaurant business released its shortlist of curry and noodle houses, with many of the city’s favourites featuring.
Among those nominated, that you can book tables with on Dish Cult, are Asian fusion favourite, Vermilion; Japanese-inspired Cottonopolis; and family-run Indian restaurant GupShup.

The restaurants are all set to compete in categories, which include the Best Restaurant for each UK region, best fusion cuisine, street food of the year, best restaurant group, best newcomer, best buffet restaurant, best fine dining, best casual dining, best takeaway, best chef and the coveted ‘Curry King’ award.

Last year’s Delhi Dream in Cheadle Hulme won Best Asian Restaurant for Manchester, while Achari in Bolton won Best Asian Restaurant in the North West region.
Meanwhile, last year’s Curry King Award went to Shabbir Hussain of Akbar’s Group.

The awards recognise cuisines from across Asia, including Bangladeshi, Burmese, Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Middle Eastern, Pakistani, Singaporean, Sri Lankan, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese.
The ceremony happens in Manchester on 31st July at the Hilton on Deansgate.
