Set inside a truly beautiful Georgian building on South Parade, which’ll look all the more magical at Christmas, The Elder is the place to enjoy authentic, honest and timeless British cooking, created by restaurateur Mike Robinson, Executive Head Chef Gavin Edney and Head Chef Jon Coates.

Christmas Day lunch at The Elder will be a truly spectacular festive feast – an eight-course menu celebrating not just Christmas, but the very best of Britain’s natural larder.

At £140pp, guests will be treated to dishes such as Artichoke Velouté with Creedy Carver Duck Canapes; Cured Chalk Stream Trout with Coastal Herbs, Pickled Cucumbers and Celtic Mustard; Fallow Deer Wellington with Truffle Mash Potato, Maple Glazed Parsnips and Deer Gravy or a perfectly Christmassy Butter Poached and Roasted Bronze Turkey with Goose Fat Roasties, and Christmas Pudding with Brandy Butter and Custard for dessert.

All produce is sourced locally and sustainably, not forgetting the wild venison The Elder is so famed for, provided by Mike Robinson’s own deer management company, Owl Barn Larder.

Relaxed and beautifully designed, yet sympathetic to its Georgian roots, The Elder epitomises opulence, pleasure and the enjoyment of a great dining experience.

Executive Chef Mike Robinson, the UK’s leading authority on wild food and game, brings his core ‘field to fork’ philosophy to Bath, creating an exceptional dining experience with a focus on sustainability, seasonality and locally-sourced produce.
