Mac & Wild is a Scottish restaurant ran by two Scots, Calum and Andy. They brought meat from Andy’s family butchery, Ardgay Game, to a street market stall in London in 2012, and haven’t looked back since. The demand completely outstripped supply. It turns out people really love venison and big juicy burgers.
After opening two restaurants in London, they’ve opened Mac & Wild Falls of Shin just three miles from the butchery in the highlands. More than just a restaurant, Falls of Shin is a place for the community, so whether you’re just visiting or you’re a highlander born and bred, there’s plenty to get involved with.

Whisky in the woods
Forget the easter egg hunt, what about a whisky bottle hunt? Join the team at Mac & Wild for a guided tour of some of their favourite whiskies hidden amongst the trees in the surroundings of the Falls of Shin. If you’re a fan of whisky, or even if you’re just starting to delve into the world of peat and drams, you’ll have fun. Look out for that pesky haggis as well. Wild cooking with Andy Waugh
Learn about butchery, curing fish, and pickling, all while enjoying a couple of beers in the highlands of Scotland. As soon as you arrive, the beers will be cracked open, the fires will get going, a big lump of meat will be put on the assado, fish will be cured, and pickles will be pickled.
