Where to dine out in London during Easter

Looking to sample some great food and drink over the Easter holidays? Well, look no further! We’ve got incredible chocolate-oriented dining experiences, roast dinners with all the trimmings, bottomless Sunday brunches and much, much more! So, without further ado, here are our top places to eat and drink in London during the Easter period.

We start things off traditionally with this guide by recommending grabbing an Easter Sunday roast at Darkhorse. The menu has a weekend roast offer where you can choose from chicken, lamb or porchetta with duck fat roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy with a glass of house wine. We recommend getting the lamb as not only does this keep with Easter tradition, but lamb is also at its best during spring in the UK. Even if you’re not into roasts, Darkhorse could still be the venue for you. It specialises in Italian dishes and seafood, so there’s plenty of variety for all you foodies out there.

Easter is also synonymous with baked goods like hot cross buns, and keeping in line with this tradition, we recommend paying a visit to Eat 17 over the Easter period. Eat 17 functions as a bakery as well as a restaurant and shop! This gives you many options for what kind of Easter meal you want. We definitely suggest booking a table, however, and ordering from one of the outstanding brunch, dinner or Sunday menus. Foodies who like something a little different should pay special attention to the brunch options, which includes a halloumi grain bowl and buttermilk pancakes.

Six Portland Road is open for lunch and dinner every day, and prides itself on writing menus daily. The menu constantly evolves and changes throughout the year, so you can probably expect some special recipes for Easter. If you’re hesitant to trust a fundamentally in flux menu, let us ease your concerns with some examples of what’s been served previously. Highlights include the Stuffed Rabbit Saddle with pancetta, mushroom and wild garlic, and the Hot Chocolate Fondant with blood orange sorbet. The venue itself is cosy with warm and sophisticated décor. In our opinion, this would be a great place to spend some quality time with loved ones this Easter.

Nothing says celebration like a steak, and nowhere does steak like Gazette! This French-inspired, Battersea-based restaurant hosts ‘Chateaubriand Monday’, which features its most popular beef cut – a 28-day aged fillet. Even if steak and beef isn’t your thing, there’s a wide variety of great French dishes and wines to choose from. Some examples are Rillette de Canaird (duck rillette, grilled tartine and condiment), Mousse de Volaille (chicken liver and foie gras parfait, grilled tartine) and Les 12 Escargots (12 snails platter with garlic butter and aromatic juice). Any big French and/or steak foodies will not want to give this restaurant a miss this Easter.
