Child-friendly places in London
Picking a child-friendly venue can be hard, and it’s even harder when it has to be adult-friendly for the sake of your sanity, too! Don’t worry though, this guide is going to give you plenty of options when it comes to taking your little one(s) out for a great meal in London. Here is our bumper guide to dining out in London’s best child-friendly restaurants.
Starting with the classics! TGI Fridays is a great franchise for families. From its kids menus to its well-decorated American themed venues, your children should be well entertained throughout their meal. The American themed menus also lean heavily into easy to eat kids favourites like burgers and chips. However, adults won’t feel left out, as TGI Fridays is well known for its delicious BBQ ribs and steaks. This restaurant’s position inside the O2 makes it great for families that have just enjoyed a day out or are about to enjoy a night out.
Mr White’s prides itself on embodying the spirit of a classic chophouse (unsurprisingly), which includes a tradition of large meaty portions! The last thing any parent or carer wants to be dealing with is irate hungry kids, so if those under your care have an appetite beyond their years, consider giving this venue a go. Mr White’s has dedicated kids menus but don’t worry, their portion sizes are generous too. Mr White’s is an excellent choice for any steak connoisseurs out there as they have a signature steak list and a finest quality beef steak list.
Run by a super friendly team, The Winchmore is great for families. It’s got a relaxed atmosphere and provides excellent service, while the food is made from scratch in the kitchen by an experienced team of chefs. Little ones can choose dishes, which will only cost you £7, as well as kid-sized desserts for only £3.95.
At first glance, this venue may not seem as well equipped to deal with boisterous kids as some of the others, but it does feature an intriguing display of art that is constantly updated. Children and adults who are interested in art or even bright pictures will love this venue. In addition to this, the Artist Residence has comfy seating options to limit any fidgeting during mealtime and a dedicated kids menu. It boasts a delicious and expansive set of menus covering breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner with classics like bacon sarnies, chicken schnitzels, fish pie and sirloin steaks.
From the creators of the award-winning Yeotown Health Retreat, Yeotown Queen’s Gardens is based in London’s first Wellness focused hotel, Inhabit, and the sister site to Yeotown Sussex Gardens. Here the menu is dairy, meat and refined sugar free, and offers primarily plant-based dishes with a couple of sustainable fish options. Most dishes are also free from gluten. Definitely one for health conscious families with sustainability at their heart.
If your child’s into their gaming, then they will love this place. Loading is full of free-to-play games, the latest consoles, fresh ground coffee (for you, obvs), signature cocktails (also you), big-screen entertainment and events covering everything from small meet-ups to triple-A game launches. There are hundreds of boardgames and video games to choose from, all of which can be played for free. The burgers here are as popular as the games, all of which have playful names too; from Devil May Fry (vegan) to Swinecraft, and Sonic The Vedgehog (vegetarian) there’s plenty of choice on offer, alongside loaded fries.
