Liverpool’s top places for waffles

We have no words to describe the desserts served by The Midnight Delivery. This place not only sells your standard (but delicious) waffles, it also sells bubble waffles, a craze that has been spreading throughout the dessert world. The Midnight Delivery started in a family home. The small kitchen became a baking paradise and people all over Liverpool would indulge in the late-night treats. Fast forward a few years and The Midnight Delivery is still a family affair but now has a shop on Smithdown Road and a stall at the infamous Baltic Market. Not for the faint-hearted, The Midnight Delivery does things with desserts that we never knew were possible; the Kinder Surprise Bubble Waffle, for example, is a waffle shaped like a crepe, but filled with vanilla ice cream, melted milk AND white chocolate, crushed Kinder Bueno, topped with whipped cream and your very own Kinder Surprise. All of this for £7.50 makes this a sweet treat that’s not to be missed.

The legend that is Moose Coffee, this is THE best place to go for all of your breakfast and coffee desires. Does your heart, head and stomach crave waffles? Well, take your pick between two hot Belgian Waffles, served with Canadian maple syrup and butter, or two served with four slices of smoked streaky bacon and maple syrup. If that isn’t enough, Moose Coffee offers a huge variety of sweet and savoury sides so you can build your dream waffle! Sides include everything from chocolate spread to peanut butter or if you fancy something more savoury, eggs and steak! The portions here are huge so make sure you leave your belt at home and wear loose trousers! There are three locations dotted around Liverpool, so you’ll never be too far away from a waffle and a delicious cup of coffee. 

We have no words to describe the waffles at Kaspa’s. We would be here all day trying to tell you about the 18 different flavours. Yes, 18! If you have a sweet tooth, look no further than Kaspa’s Desserts because this is THE place in Liverpool to go for all of your sugary needs. Whether you want to be (semi) healthy with a Strawberry Indulge waffle or you’re going all out death by chocolate and fancy a Chocolate Brownie Waffle, there is a flavour to appeal to everyone. Picture stepping back in time into a retro old-school American diner with bright pink leather booths, metallic walls and squeaky clean countertops. You’ll feel like a little kid in a candy shop.

Looking for a loaded sweet waffle? Pattersons offers a choice of three tasty flavours: Daim, Malteaser and the classic Kinder Bueno. The original Pattersons shop was based on Gladwell Street for over 40 years! Founded by two men with a love of American influenced food, the duo spent their free time crafting their special fried chicken spices. Move over Colonel Sanders, because Mr Pattersons is where it’s at for fried chicken and American style waffles in Liverpool. The homely comfort food is matched by an inviting and relaxed decor. So, if you want to mix great waffles with great drinks, in a great location, then look no further! 

With a nod to its extensive heritage, The GPO is a hub for Liverpool’s emerging Food Hall scene. With a mix of design and culinary excellence, this place showcases the best in up-and-coming food and drink talent in the heart of Liverpool City Centre. Independent and totally unique food vendors make up the floor, hand chosen and incubated to showcase the best in world food in one place. If you fancy a swanky, plant-filled and rustic location, slightly out of the hustle and bustle of the city, head to The Brunch Club on Duke Street. Charming, casual and cool, The Brunch Club has adopted a raw and industrial approach to their interiors, with bare brick walls, low hanging lighting and casual sofas.  They serve breakfast and brunch done right including waffles.  Their Fried Chicken Waffles  for £11.95 include buttermilk fried chicken breast, smoked almond butter and maple syrup, served on Brunch Club waffles… How amazing does that sound?!

In the heart of Liverpool’s vibrant Renshaw Street Hardware Coffee + Kitchen serves mouthwatering brunch creations and expertly brewed coffee. They blew up on social media because of their amazing creations, including waffles, pancakes and french toast for those of you with a sweet tooth! Their savoury brunch menu is amazing too with plenty of veggie, vegan and meaty options.

The Shippons, a traditional pub set in the heart of Irby village which is halfway between Chester and Liverpool. It won the Thwaits Hospitality Pub of the Year this year too which makes it a must visit. As well as their amazing classic British pub food, they have an extensive dessert menu to match and you guessed it, it includes waffles! You can have a belgian waffle smothered with melted nutella and topped with an ice cream flavour of your choice. Desserts sit in a different stomach after all! 

Sweet or savoury for breakfast? We always choose sweet, but the choice is up to you! You can pick between plain with Canadian maple syrup and icing sugar or add breakfast toppings like bacon or sausages for £1.50 each to make your waffles more savoury! Nova Scotia is in the perfect location, right on the Albert Docks, it’s a great place to sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
