Easter – what does it remind you of? Cute chicks? Baby bunnies? Bouncing little lambs? What about Lambananas? If you’re from Liverpool, you’ll understand, if you’re not… Well, you’ll have to visit and find out for yourself! We think Easter is all about quality food and special meals to warm the soul. So, here is a list of our top dining spots to visit this Easter.
Easter is about indulging in fresh, quality food. And what’s more indulgent than one of the best steak places Liverpool has to offer? Macello Meat House has gotten so popular it now has two venues – one in the south of Liverpool in Childwall and one in the north in West Derby Village. Macello Meat House first opened in Childwall in 2017 and it quickly became known for its delicious Turkish-style dishes and mouthwatering steaks. On the menu, you’ll find everything from Shanghai beef steak and garlic leaf steak to prime ribeye and special cuts such as a 1kg T-bone. There’s also an Insta-worthy golden fillet, which is covered with 24k gold leaf! Since its opening, some popular faces have frequented this place, including Liverpool FC’s own Mohammed Salah, so it must be good!
You just can’t beat Rudy’s pizza – it’s simple, fresh and quick! You can find Rudy’s on Castle Street and Bold Street, where you can enjoy the most delicious pizzas with freshly-made dough, double fermented for 24 hours, and then cooked for just 60 seconds. You can also enjoy traditional Italian booze including Rudy’s blood orangecello or the non-alcoholic blonde crodino. Keep your eye on the pizza specials board too, as there’s often creative flavours that change regularly.
The Pullman Restaurant is located inside Pullman Liverpool Hotel. The four-star hotel is located at Kings Dock on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront, on-site with M&S Bank Arena, ACC Liverpool and Exhibition Centre. It’s also just a five-minute walk from the vibrant Royal Albert Dock. Relax in stylish, elegant surroundings and enjoy the convenient location of the hotel’s classic restaurant. Liverpool One, the Cavern Club and many museums are all within walking distance. If you want to make a proper a romantic weekend of it, book a room for you and yours. That way, you can crawl into the lift and straight to your room if you have one-to-many gins at the fully-stocked bar – winning!
LEAF on Smithdown Road is the ultimate lunch spot for anyone working around South Liverpool. On the all day menu, you’ll find a range of flavourful sandwiches guaranteed to satisfy your taste buds. At LEAF, you can choose from the classic BLT or if you are feeling spicy, why not try the Moroccan spiced chicken sandwich or the warm spiced falafel on tasty sourdough bread. If you’re feeling extra peckish, you can add on some hand-cut chips or for the colder days you may want to try LEAF’s homemade soup to warm the soul. LEAF also has its flagship location on Liverpool’s infamous Bold Street. The food is freshly prepared and locally sourced making it the perfect place to spend a relaxing Easter afternoon.
What if food was the key to unlocking our inner child and colourful imagination? What if we could escape adult-life, if just for a short while? Six by Nico is a unique dining experience that brings fine dining and a six course taster menu to your table at affordable prices. Now this is luxury dining and a special way to spend your Easter! The menus change regularly, each one coming with a new theme; previous themes have included the likes of Neverland. Just don’t forget to book your table!
The Italian Club serves the best of homemade Italian pizza, pasta and main dishes in a unique and friendly surrounding. Since the opening in 2007, the family-owned and independently run ‘Trattoria’ has built up a reputation for delivering authentic Italian food, with friendly and helpful service in truly ‘Italian’ surroundings. The a la carte menu offers an extensive choice of dishes, which are well complemented by a choice of daily specials, reflecting local and seasonal availability. All of the dishes are homemade and, as such, may sometimes take a little longer to prepare… but the wait is always worth it! If you struggle to finish your meal (the portions are very generous here), everything is available to take away and there’s also a choice of traditional dishes for more ambitious home catering, such as dinner parties or celebrations. At The Italian Club, the team has two wonderful chefs: Maurizio Pellegrini, Executive Chef proprietor from Puglia, and Sicilian Head Chef, Martino Cusumano. Both are passionate and committed to bringing you food with great taste and authentic ingredients. Whether it’s an early morning coffee, breakfast panino, lunch or evening dining, you will definitely find something to your liking this Easter weekend. We recommend the Tagliatelle with king prawns, fresh red chilli, white wine, fresh tomato sauce and basil pesto for something extra tasty.
The Maray story began in the summer of 2014, inspired by the cultural melting pot of Le Marais, Paris. Located at the top of Liverpool’s bustling and bohemian Bold Street, Maray offers seasonal and sophisticated small plates inspired by the flavours of the Middle East, served alongside its signature house cocktails and hand-selected bottled beers and wines. The emphasis at Maray is firmly on carefully sourced, seasonal and sustainable ingredients with casual but attentive service. Head to Maray if you want to spend your Easter weekend in a more casual setting; we highly recommend this location for the amazing vegetarian options! The menu may change due to what the chefs order freshly everyday, however, we highly recommend the pure indulgence that is the ultimate Medjool date and condensed milk caramel bread and butter pudding. Heavenly!
The Quarter is a bustling restaurant that prides itself on serving consistently fresh food in a friendly, laid back atmosphere. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week, here you can find great pizzas, pastas and salads, with an ever changing Mediterranean themed specials menu. Not hungry? That’s fine! Come and enjoy some nibbles and a cocktail on the terrace, Liverpool’s best al fresco dining spot, with spectacular views of The Anglican Cathedral. Just remember to book your table to avoid any disappointment.
