It can get quite frustrating trying to find a solid eatery in Auckland that isn’t quite a fine dining nor will it break the bank. This is where Little Jimmy comes into the picture; their food is not only delicious, but their produce is also entirely sourced from local kiwi producers to deliver the best New Zealand has to offer while still leaving enough money for dessert.
The Venue
Little Jimmy review

Tucked in a quiet corner in Epsom, Little Jimmy feels like a friendly neighbourhood bar, somewhere you’d go down for a casual drink or a catch up with mates. And their decor feels just like that and more. It has a classy yet informal feel, with a majority of the dining set right next to the bar where you can look over and see your drinks being made.

The Food
Little Jimmy review

The food reiterates this classy vibe as each dish was plated to perfection, especially the market fish, which looked like more art than food. The fish was served on a bed of farro which helped soak up and bring out the flavor of the dish and for someone who avoids ordering fish, it was delicious.

Little Jimmy review

For my second dish, I ordered the Mahy Farms grass-fed beef burger, and it was even better than my first plate. On the first take, the burger was oozing with cheese, and the bacon was in full sight making it extremely hard not to eat in one go. The beef patty was hefty but very tender, and the cheese plus bacon combination added so much to the flavor.

Little Jimmy review

The burger came with delicious crunchy curly fries and chipotle aioli which, by itself, is almost drinkable.

I absolutely loved this place, the food, and the ambience, and would recommend to all, especially those just trying to get a casual, affordable feed without having to venture too far.
