We’ve scoured Sydney and found a list of restaurants where you can snap up a free kids meal or two.

Bondi Trattoria

Known for decades as The Tratt by locals, this family-friendly Italian eatery is always crowded and welcoming in that traditional Italian way.

The dining room is bright and breezy with pastel colours, dark timber furniture and photographs of old Italy to give the place a homey feel.

Every Monday, when an adult orders a main meal, a kid will get a free main and dessert. The kids menu is more extensive than usual with highlights including The Tratt junior burger and a selection of pizza. Desserts include ricotta doughnuts, and chocolate wafers with dulce de leche, peanut crunch and vanilla ice cream. For adults, we recommend the signature angel hair pasta with rare yellowfin tuna, zucchini, rocket, chilli, lemon, and capers.

The Potting Shed

One of Sydney’s best known and loved cafes, The Potting Shed is part of The Grounds of Alexandria and is charming with its alfresco setting and whimsical decor. Families love the rustic feel with room for the kids to roam and check out the goats, sheep and miniature pony.

While it’s always family friendly, Mondays come with added incentive because, from 3pm to 9pm, kids eat free. Under 12s can choose a free main meal from the kid’s menu when an adult spends $25 or more on a single receipt.

There’s plenty to choose from including grass-fed beef cheeseburgers, grilled fish fillets and fresh egg pasta. The adult menu is also extensive, featuring starters like burrata and kingfish ceviche as well as steaks, salads and beer-battered barramundi.

The Buena

A favourite among locals and a destination in itself, The Buena boasts a delicious menu with great service and a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe.

On Mondays, with every adult main ordered, kids eat for free at the Vista Bar from 5pm. The kids menu features dishes like battered fish, chicken schnitzel, spaghetti bolognese, cheeseburgers, as well as ham and margherita pizza. All mains come with a free soft drink or juice, ice cream and a colouring in kit to keep them busy while adults feast on dishes including beer-battered barramundi, chicken parmigiana, miso-glazed salmon, burnt butter gnocchi and beef cheek pappardelle.

Garfish Crows Nest

Locals love Garfish for the freshest seafood and the welcoming atmosphere.

With an open kitchen and clean, minimalist decor, the chefs here let the natural flavours of the seafood shine.

With an extensive menu including a range of seasonal specials on a large chalkboard, they are open to adapting menu items and mixing and matching. Kids eat free every night of the week, between 5pm and 5.30pm.

Come for an early dinner with starters such as salt and pepper squid, grilled Hokkaido scallops, and signature Hiramasa kingfish sashimi. For mains, try the popular snapper pie with roasted garlic, broccolini, and soubise sauce.

Teta's

Is there anything better than a meal at grandma’s? Teta’s, which means grandma in Lebanese, is all about sharing food and authentic Middle Eastern recipes.

Every Sunday between 5pm and 6pm, kids eat free. The kids menu includes chicken, kafte or lamb skewers, all served with chips or rice, and falafel.

Parents aren’t exactly left out either with Lebanese favourites such as Teta’s lemon garlic chicken and a range of skewers. Don’t miss the mixed dips consisting of hummus, baba ghanouj, labne and Lebanese fried bread, enough to share for three to four people.
