Jollibee opens first restaurant in Glasgow city centre specialising in fried chicken

Jollibee, famous for its family recipe for hand-breaded fried chicken called Chickenjoy and ‘Jolly Spaghetti’, is opening its doors in Glasgow for the first time today (25th March) on Sauchiehall Street.

A favourite fried chicken chain is opening its first store in Glasgow on one of the city’s most iconic streets. Jollibee, which is famous for its family recipe for hand-breaded fried chicken called Chickenjoy, opens today on Sauchiehall Street.

Not only will the restaurant mark its first in the city, but it’ll bring 50 new jobs to the city centre, too.

The menu will be rammed with crowd favourites such as ‘Jolly Spaghetti’, prepared with its signature sweet-style sauce, loaded with chunky slices of beef sausage, and generously topped with cheese.

It will also include the Jollibee Chicken Sandwich, which is served with a hefty chicken fillet, marinated in a special recipe, breaded to crunch-perfection, and then topped with a delicious dressing.

Chicken tenders, an Asian rice bowl, hot dogs and fries, and loaded fries are also popular on the menu.

Since opening the first store in Edinburgh on 24th February, the brand’s TikTok account has grown by 20,000 followers and the total views of videos about the first Scottish opening has exceeded 1.4 million, proving the success of the brand among the Gen Z audience.

Jollibee was originally founded in 1978 and has over 1,500 stores across 17 countries, including the USA, Canada, Spain, Italy, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, UAE, and the UK.

The first Jollibee in the UK opened in London in 2018 and has since added another eight locations to the map including Edinburgh, Cardiff, Newcastle, Liverpool and Leicester Square in London’s West End.
