What started as a vivid dream has blossomed into a beloved dining experience, capturing the hearts and taste buds of seafood lovers in Manchester and beyond. Jimmy’s Killer Prawns, founded in June 1991, was born from the creative vision of Jimmy and his wife Penny, who took a leap of faith on a once-failed restaurant site in an old mining house. Little did they know, this would be the beginning of a seafood revolution…

The inspiration for Jimmy’s Killer Prawns came to Jimmy in a dream – an aerial view of a long table surrounded by friends enjoying a feast at the Peri Peri Restaurant in Lourenço Marques (now Maputo), Mozambique. The centerpiece of this gathering? Four massive platters of prawns, perfectly cooked and served for everyone to share. This vision became the cornerstone of Jimmy’s new venture.

Today, Jimmy’s Killer Prawns has grown from that initial dream into a renowned restaurant, famous for its signature prawns and a menu that offers a tantalising array of seafood dishes.
At the heart of the menu is the iconic Killer Prawns, served in various mouthwatering preparations that keep customers coming back for more. Whether you prefer them grilled with a touch of lemon and herbs or drenched in a rich, spicy Peri-Peri sauce, these prawns are a must-try.

For those seeking variety, the Seafood Platter is another crowd-pleaser, offering a bountiful selection of prawns, calamari, and fish fillets, all perfectly cooked to highlight the fresh flavours of the sea.
Also not to be missed is the Lobster Thermidor, a decadent dish that melts in your mouth, making it a favourite among regulars.

Jimmy’s Killer Prawns isn’t just about the food – it’s about the experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a focus on communal dining, much like the gathering in Jimmy’s dream. This is a place where friends and family can come together to share not just a meal, but a moment.
So, whether you’re a seafood aficionado or someone looking to try something new, Jimmy’s Killer Prawns promises an unforgettable dining experience. Book your table today on Dish Cult and dive into the dream that became a Manchester legend.
