T-Bar Restaurant

For smoking hot wood-fired pizza, char-grilled steaks and an Italian-inspired menu of pastas and hearty dishes, T-Bar is the place to be.

A classic dinner spot in the heart of Thredbo Village since 1980, the cosy restaurant glows with relaxed mountain vibes and local charm. There’s a popular trivia night on Thursdays at 8pm and a solid kids’ menu so you can even bring the little ones along.

Round out the meal with a molten lava chocolate cake or sticky date pudding for dessert and your belly’s set for tomorrow’s snow adventures. Bookings recommended – this place gets busy!

Had so much fun out on the slopes you forgot to grab a bite to eat? Luckily, there’s a hole-in-the-wall bar in Village Square that welcomes snow bunnies into the late hours (chunky ski boots included!)

For a drink, you’re spoilt for choice. Après Bar does eclectic cocktails and all your favourite signature classics, plus beer, spirits, French sparkling and a quality array of Australian whites and reds.

The bar menu also offers a small range of tasty snacks like freshly shucked oysters, olives and charcuterie. If you’re after something more substantial, try the steak tartare with lattice chips or the house-made pasta of the day.

Featuring sublime balcony sunsets, mountain views, friendly bar staff and a rotating nightly program of live music, there’s no mystery why Après is Thredbo’s favourite bar.

Kareela Hutte

Widely considered one of Thredbo’s most iconic venues, Kareela Hutte is a ski-in ski-out à la carte restaurant for serious snow guests only. If you’re at least intermediate in skiing or snowboarding, this is an alpine dining experience for the photo album (or Insta feed)!

High on the mountain, enjoy a specially curated menu of European classics – grazing boards, schnitzel, pork knuckles, Champagne cheese fondue, decadent desserts, and a select range of international wines.

The team at Kareela Hutte is renowned for its exceptional mountain hospitality and use of fresh, premium ingredients. They also often host interesting events throughout the season, like supper clubs, shows and exclusive packages – so be sure to check the website before you book.

Merritts Mountain House

At 1600m high, Merritts is a family-friendly mountainside retreat famous for its deluxe hot chocolates, mulled wines and simple fuss-free fare.

Take a quick ski break with a glass of peppermint schnapps and a giant pretzel, or settle in for a boozy Bavarian-style lunch with friends.

On weekends, the restaurant attracts live entertainers, DJs and an energetic happy hour crowd.

For a special experience, why not arrive in style via Australia’s only alpine gondola under the stars? The ride back down offers stunning views of the Thredbo Village lights below.
