Hawksmoor’s coming to Dublin

Hawksmoor lines up Dublin restaurant

Hawksmoor founders Will Beckett and Huw Gott look set to bring their famous steakhouse to Dublin early next year after filing a planning application for the former National Irish Bank site in College Green.

Hawksmoor Dublin will be the steak restaurant group’s second international site, following the opening of the New York location.

Will and Huw are planning to restore the original features of the National Irish Bank, including the banking hall’s grand 40-feet cast iron dome and ornate plasterwork, as well as reinstating elements like cast iron railings similar to those originally installed in the 1880s.

The duo have also announced that the team is also currently building an Irish supply chain for Hawksmoor Dublin, so that the restaurant focuses on Irish beef.

Hawksmoor first opened in London’s Spitalfields in 2006. Since then it’s grown to seven sites that include cities such as Manchester and Edinburgh.

The group plan to also open a site in Liverpool later this year.
