During the day, you’ll be treated to Garlic and Thyme’s delicious breakfast and deli menu, available from 8am. If breakfast is your favourite meal of the day, you certainly won’t be disappointed with Garlic and Thyme’s morning menu. You have all the classics – a full Scottish, poached eggs benedict and royale, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, pancakes with maple syrup, Nutella pancakes, hot filled rolls, and omelettes. Or build your own breakfast with Garlic and Thyme’s ‘Breakfast your way’ option, including bits like hash browns, link sausage, black pudding and haggis, French toast, and veggie sausages.

It’s important to note that Garlic and Thyme are passionate about using only the best ingredients in their cooking and where possible, also using local suppliers to ensure the end result is the tastiest meal possible without the price tag; which is why their deli sandwiches are such a hit for the busy workers of Bridgeton, who often frequent the deli for a workday pick-me-up.

On the deli sandwich menu you’ll find classics such as the G and T Club Sandwich, grilled cheese, Italian mixed meat, tuna crunch, mozzarella, basil and tomato, BLT, and roasted veggies with pesto, all served with their dressed house salad. Throw in some fries or soup to bulk up your lunch and you’re set til dinner time .

The main affair

The dinner menu is where things get serious. As we said, by night the venue turns into an intimate affair, with a date night menu to match. Garlic and Thyme has a range of traditional Italian dishes to keep your cravings at bay. We’d suggest starting with a classic bruschetta, polepetti (beef and pork meatballs in tomato sauce), arancini balls, scallops in a black pudding crumb, and mussels in their garlic and white wine sauce – all best enjoyed shared amongst the table so you can taste a bit of everything.

For mains, expect all the delicious carbs you’d find anywhere in Italy – hand-stretched pizzas, calzones, fresh and fluffy focaccia, pastas and risotto. You’ll find classics such as carbonara, bolognese, napoli pasta, sea salt and rosemary focaccia, goat’s cheese and red onion focaccia, parma ham and rocket pizza, a traditional margarita, fungi pizza with wild mushrooms, and a spicy Pollo al Picante chicken pizza.

The main menu doesn’t stop there! You’ll find plenty of fish dishes, from roast salmon fillet with potatoes and market veg to pan-roasted sea bass with king prawns in a lemon butter. If you’re looking for a hearty meal, opt for a breaded chicken breast on a bed of napoli pasta,  a juicy Cajun chicken burger, or a fillet steak served with chunky chips and a rich homemade peppercorn sauce.

Garlic and Thyme’s menu is extensive and varied, it’ll take a few visits to try everything that catches your eye. From traditional and crowd-pleasing Italian dishes to more local Scottish favourites, there’s truly something for every kind of diner on the menu. Lighter options showcase fresh local produce, and richer dishes are made with traditional cooking techniques to solidify flavours and turn them into full-bodied dishes.
