Schools out for summer! The summer holidays are finally here and it’s time to get all the kids together and create special memories at some of the best kid-friendly restaurants Glasgow has to offer. Here at Dish Cult we have scouted out the best restaurants to take the kids to, so you don’t have to.

Pizza Punks is a fun pizza restaurant in the city centre of Glasgow that specialises in sourdough pizzas made from the finest Italian ingredients. It’s ideal for kids as they can create their own pizzas with a range of delicious ingredients, using as many toppings as they like, set at one price. As well as delicious pizzas, fresh pasta is made in the kitchens every day as well and is available at £10 with a range of sauces to choose from, such as crème fraiche and parmesan or basil and garlic white.

Harvester is a child-friendly chain restaurant that offers up tasty food at low prices. There’s a kid’s menu available for children aged 10 or under, stacked with deliciously nutritious food such as mini beef burgers, veggie fingers, cauliflower mac and cheese and southern fried chicken-free strips. Children are encouraged to choose two veg or one side and one vegetable as Harvester are committed to supporting the ‘Peas Please Pledge’ of two veg portions in every meal. For older kids and adults looking to enjoy a delicious meal, you can enjoy two or three courses every Sunday to Friday from 5pm with prices starting from £14.49. Choose from mouthwatering slow cooked ribs, craft burgers, chargrilled skewers and rotisserie chicken served with seasoned chips and buttered corn.

Mackintosh at the Willow

This internationally recognised, A-listed building was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1903 for local tea entrepreneur Miss Kate Cranston. This is the original Willow Tea Rooms Building and the only surviving Tea Rooms designed entirely by Mackintosh, both the interior and exterior. It is also recognised as one of the finest examples in the world of a complete Art Nouveau scheme. Enjoy lunch and afternoon tea in the main tearooms, a three course afternoon tea experience in the Salon De Luxe or nibbles, as well as lunch and drinks on the rooftop terrace. Great for a break from the kids or for somewhere a little more sophisticated for them.

The ultimate breakfast spot during the summer holidays is without a double Stack & Still. The UK’s largest pancake house hosts a full menu dedicated to pancakes. Whether you’re team savoury or sweet you can be assured you will find your dream pancake combination here. Why not build your own stack? Choose how many pancakes you would like and then start having fun adding the different combinations of ingredients. Popular savoury options include the Smoked Salmon and Avocado Stack and the Big Breakfast Stack, while sweet signatures include the Banana Stack, Strawberry Cheesecake Stack and the iconic Nutella Stack. Choosing from an extensive list of ingredients, you can add diverse options including bacon, meringue, hot fudge sauce and shredded brisket! Cup Tea Rooms

Luciano’s is a contemporary Italian restaurant that’s perfect for adults and kids alike. All of the dishes here are freshly prepared and made using only the highest quality ingredients. The ‘bambini’ menu is excellently priced: just £6.85 for two courses, or £8.95 for three. Kids can choose from tasty classics like spaghetti bolognese, margarita pizza, and penne carbonara for their main courses — and there’s chocolate brownie and ice-cream for dessert. The atmosphere is relaxed and convivial, and the service is friendly and swift. Adults will enjoy the extensive drinks menu, as well as the pizza, pasta and drink offer (£35 for any pizza and pasta with a bottle for wine, available for Mon-Friday).

Child and dog-friendly, BRU is an excellent spot for anyone looking to enjoy a leisurely brunch in a chilled-out environment. Championing local produce and seasonal ingredients, you can expect a menu that’s full to the brim with family-favourites (like the full Scottish breakfast, or ginormous BLT sandwich!), as well as a number of more unfamiliar numbers, like the Bunny Chow (a South African street food prepared with butter beans and sweet potato). The café itself is light and airy, with plenty of room for pushchairs. Don’t leave without sampling the Malva Pudding: sticky, sweet and served with creamy vanilla ice-cream — kids (and grown-ups) are bound to adore it.
