Liverpool's most fun venues
Liverpool is renowned for its buzzing nightlife, friendly locals and amazing live music scene. But, if you want to see a slightly different side to Liverpool, there are quirky bars and restaurants all over the city that take you away from the main hen do and stag party locations without taking away the fun! Take a look through our list of the best places to hang out in Liverpool for some fun.
PINS Social Club is way more than just a bowling bar. Oh no, it’s three floors of pure fun, games and food! It even has a purpose built karaoke booth which is a space where legends are born, divas reign supreme and friends battle it out on the mic. Put down the hairbrush and warm up those vocal chords…
The ground floor bar is a prime spot for the discerning drinker and the main hub for people to come together and enjoy the bustling atmosphere of live music, clinking glasses and the sound of cues hitting pool balls.
Situated in the heart of the action, Rocco’s is the one-stop shop for those mid-match sips and post-game victory rounds. Catch the main event on the screens or become your own sporting hero on the table games. It’s a space to disconnect from your phones and reconnect with your friends. Just head upstairs and get playing. Everyday until 5, it serves deli sandwiches and
alongside this, it also has small bites, burgers and loaded fries. Rocco’s bar also serves a wide range of veggie and vegan options so, if plant based is your thing, you’re covered!
P.S: it also has homemade cookie dough and ice cream…Nothing gives you a winning mentality like a sugar rush!
Above it all is the rooftop – the ultimate skyline hangout. Bask in the sun as you share a pitcher of sangria or cool off solo with one of the alcoholic slushies. Try your hand at shuffle court or take your ping pong game to the next level.
Located by Liverpool Lime Street, the Boom: Battle Bar is perfect for the weekend. Get set for a host of wild activities including Bavarian axe throwing, crazier golf, augmented reality darts and shuffleboard all rolled into one location. It also serves tantalising twists on cocktail classics. This is Liverpool’s best location for a fun-filled location! Expect loaded fries and chicken wings to gorge on in between games, too.
If you fancy taking part in the axe throwing, then make sure you’re sober before arriving; the staff also don’t allow alcohol whilst you throw – that wouldn’t end well. But, if you’re worried about beheading your mates, maybe you’d rather spend your fun day out in Liverpool playing crazy golf… but you’ve never seen it this crazy. Catapults, loops, conveyors… they have it all! You can drink as much as you like playing this, so why not try a Britany Spritz? It’s like Britney Spears, but in a glass.
Searching for fun things to do in Liverpool basides bask in its culture and amazing pubs? Well, Golf Fang is the perfect crazy golf venue that has a seriously twisted 18 hole course. Think satirical humour meets neon lights, meets Ibiza rave. The fun doesn’t stop there, there’s also a cosy outdoor bar that serves BBQ street food – perfect in the warmer weather. The food is naughty but delicious! Golf Fang serves a range of ‘twisted tapas’ if you just want a nibble, or there’s also an amazing selection of burgers. Our personal faves are a toss-up between the pulled pork smothered in BBQ sauce or the salt and pepper chicken burger with spicy sriracha. Is your mouth watering yet?
Point Blank shooting is a state-of-the-art simulation shooting range and the ultimate competitive socialising experience in the undergrounds of Castle Street. Sharp-shooting groups of up to 10 can compete to get the highest scores by shooting their way through a series of courses, while individuals can choose from an extensive array of guns in their own personal armoury. Co-owner Mark Rushton created the concept with business partner Phil Hale after visiting a shooting range with a friend while on a family holiday in Florida. “I came back and was telling Phil about the trip and what we’d done,” says Mark. “We thought there must be some kind of virtual shooting experience already, but when we explored this further, we couldn’t believe the idea hadn’t already been snapped up.”
There are five private ranges in the basement, which can hold up to 10 people each, so there’s plenty of room for everyone. Plus, Point Blank has a great bar area, serving a selection of spirits as well as craft beers and a huge list of cocktails. If you’re looking to line your stomach before you take to the range, Point Blank also serves a solid selection of wings, pizzas and loaded fries to give you the carb-load needed for accurate shooting. Even better, it’s very affordable if you’re looking for a fun activity on a budget.
