New brunch, vegan and dinner menus from Freight
Since first opening its doors in 2017, Freight, located both in East and South Belfast, has shaken up the food scene and become a favourite for hip local foodies around the city.
Open for brunch, lunch and dinner Freight offers a unique and daring take on local favourites, taking inspiration from exotic flavours around the world. The brainchild of local brothers Gerard and Christy McQuillian, this contemporary spot wanted to bring something new to the Belfast food scene. Venturing into uncharted territories, it combines cuisines and mixes flavours to create something completely unique and equally delicious. In fitting with its unique menu, Freight East is set inside old shipping containers, near the city’s iconic CS Lewis Square.
Kicking off 2022 with a bang, the brothers of Freight announced their new updated menu to beat those Christmas blues and it has already proven popular with regulars and new visitors alike. For brunch, visitors have the pleasure of sampling Creme Brûlée French Toast, Sticky Pork Cheek Bahn, Nashville Hot Chicken Benedict as well as a number of other bold yet inspiring dishes. Never one to disappoint, as well as a new regular brunch menu, Freight has introduced a completely new Vegan brunch offering, which goes so much further than the typical “Avo on toast”. With a selection of KMF Boa, Persian Fricasse or Chickpea + Spud Taco, Freight’s plant-based dishes are sure to tempt even the most stubborn of carnivores.
It doesn’t stop there, however. Alongside the new brunch menus, Freight announced a dinner menu which, like the brunch offering, is sure to excite. Taking classics such as chicken supreme, pork fillet and steak of the day and completely flipping them on their head, is true to nature with Freight and guaranteed to create a dining experience like no other. Guests are sure to forget they are dining in a shipping container when enjoying Ox Cheek Croquettes or Cheeseburger Dumplings, washed down with one of the venue’s signature cocktails.
